Nice Job!

Here is something else I made fooling around with my cutter. While we are on this topic, does anyone know where to find glow-in-the-dark vinyl? OR - does anyone have a link to small sheets of reflective or fluorescent vinly? By the foot even. I'm just using oracal 651 (white). I've shot these about 50 time each over 300fps and the vinyl seems to be holding up.

No need for a template, just draw a rectangle that measures 1x7. This is for a carbon arrow. Some of the fatter carbon arrows you may have to go with 1.25 x 7 or 5 inches if you preferr. The are very easy to install. I use a mouse pad to lay the vinyl on and you wouldn't believe how well the static helps when you lay it on the pad. There are a few youtube videos that show this application.

Awesome...Thanks guys!

Not sure what the long term result would be from constucting these with your cutter would be. Probably not good for your cutter but here is something I made using one of my duller blades on my cutter. I scarred the cardstock with the cutter and then I cut the outer perimitter with an excto knife. It's easy to follow the contour once the cutter scars it. I suppose you could use scissors too. Anyways, it was fun designing it. I use them to ship fishing lures I make and sell on ebay.

Make your money back on the purchase of your first Cutter
d3c3pti0n5 posted a topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
Just wanted to share my experience with you and thank everyone for your support. I had never done any type of work like this before and never owned a cutter till a few weeks ago, so here is my testimony. Again, I'm not braggin, simply wanted to inform the audience, (that's you reading this) how simple it was to make your money back on a cutter if you are still debating whether or not to invest your money on a cutter/plotter. A few weeks ago I purchased a pcut 24" cutter and today it paid for its self. I sold 26 cheerleading/football magnets (average 5x7) to a local kids football team. If you are considering buying a cutter, I say go ahead and do it. Talk to a coach or cheerleading mom and see what their needs are. As many on here have incouraged and suggested, once people find out that you are doing this kind of work, you will get customers/business. -

Pretty much all word of mouth, no special skills needed . I GAVE several small decal samples to my friends when I first started and most of my jobs have came through them. Some I have casually solicited a few smaller jobs but I'm not very good at that sort of stuff so I keep that at a minimum. And the prices are average for my area, I've actually added more to the graphic and selling for less than what others sell a plain magnet for. Everyone seems to like them, no hesitant customers yet. In fact one lady ordered ten more last week after getting her first order. I guess like people on this forum say when asked to quote something, "The price is different depending to your location. Best thing to do is research your area and see what you can get?" -
Here you go....try this. I found a small keychain online that I converted. Hope this helps. Taz.eps Taz.eps

Price For Screen Printing
d3c3pti0n5 replied to PBear's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
I believe what was meant by vinyl was: using a heat press and using a material like thermoflex. I have done the vinyl on screen for a few shirts, but that's about all you can get out of a screen with vinyl as the mask. Plastisol is the type of ink used for screen printing fabrics. And by plastisol price, I'm assuming that means a cheaper/flat rate price. -
Here's my go at a door magnet set I made for my mother-in-law....As much as I wanted to, I didn't charge her. J/K Thanks Banner John, the corner rounder from walmart worked great. $3.88, you can beat that.

I'm using Gloss 24" WIDE 30 MIL that I bought from a local shop by the role 24"x25'. John, I'm glad I bought the roll cause Hobby Lobby sell the 1'x2' sheets for $9.99 and it looks like I'll be making more cheer and football magnets this weekend. -

Money maker for small sign shops
d3c3pti0n5 replied to maverick5754's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
Here is another place to get them for $36 if you have a store near by. Banner John and I are fortunate to have one close. http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200307917_200307917 I've also thought about using plexiglass bolted down to the board so that it could easily be removed if need. I'm seriously researching this project and have 3 locations lined up....Now all I need are customers. -

If you can guess which one goes for $12, you'll know what I mean by "only 30m ply" -

Getting $10 and $12 for these. I did not use the cutter to cut the magnet out. I used scissors, it's only 30ml ply. -
What was the problem? Layers?

I'll drink to that. These are two colors (LOL duh!) I say that cause I couldn't find black magnet sheets at the time, and even if I did i would have probably cut into my profit....haha or the black may not have been as shiny as i wanted. So the magnet sheet is white covered in black and then golden yellow. -
Little by little I'm discovering new tools...This thing is loaded with cool features. I'm right there with ya Tracee.
