Issues exporting from Corel Draw X6

Everything. I import it as a JPEG. I have no clue why it says something about PDF.

    Here's a video of my issues. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liw619IdhhU&feature=youtu.be

    2 color decals

I have been very hesitant to make any 2 color decals. Especially for myself and to just experiment since it just wasts materials. But practice makes perfect! I got an order for 3 color decals.I designed it in Photoshop. I really don't see much profit in these 2 or 3 color decals because people just don't understand the amount of work involved and just how much material it really takes. He is ordering them in 7x15" What would you charge for each one? I was thinking around 4 or $5 each. He needs about 10.

Thanks for your reply. What is the launcher? I tried to export and tried saving and opening it in sign cut but still get the error.

    2 color decals

I passed the decal to a friend who gave it to the owner of the company and it was denied. Apparently he is very picky. What he wanted was for me to copy this one which is attached. I don't think i will do it because the owner of the company wants to get them for about $5 each which is already too low for the first design that i made.

    Another NOOB Question: Multi-Coloring

I usually use photoshop to disign the decals. I always make registration marks and hide them until the end. If i am printing a 3 color decal I'll simply separate it into 3 different images and save. I'll simply hide and un-hide layers that are needed/not needed and save as a JPEG. I then import it to Corel Draw or Inkscape and export to Signcut.

Test cut is cutting a serial number, not squares??

I don't know what to say about this one. Give USCutter a call. Their support is top notch.

    price isn't out of line

How much is it? Nevermind i see. Almost 9000. I would NEVER make a purchase that big without at least 2 years warranty.

    How'd you get started?

I have always been interested and wanted to own my own small business of some type. I own a lifted, offroad Jeep Cherokee and i run a web form as well for the Jeeps. We had a T-shirt guy and decal guy with very affordable prices but people kept asking for all different colors of decals and it was a pain to keep ordering them so i figured i would cut out the middle man and buy a vinyl cutter! Unfortunately in the time that i bought the vinyl cutter some drama happened on the site and i rarely visit the site anymore and i recently lost my job. So I am in it full time and constantly try to advertise online and by word of mouth but business does not seem to be picking up so everything may go for sale here soon. Jeff.
  10. Hello. My name is Jeff with Geckmaster vinyl decals. I have mostly lurked around and posted a few times but i plan to be more active here. I have atached some of my work/designs. I have been in business for almost a year and hope to learn some new things here. Here is some of my work/designs. Jeff.
  11. Thanks so much for all the replies. I didn't realize how many people were on this forum!
  12. Same prices as online. They have low quality all the way up to high quality. Low quality starts at 20 bucks for 24x10yrd and high quality is in the $30s range.
  13. I have zero success so far. I know a sign guy who said he got permission and he gave me the email address. I'll PM you and further details on this.
  14. Thanks! I bought this vinyl cutter as a hobby and for small, personal use. I know that i could have easily got a cricut or 15" cutter but when i make a purchase i like to go big or go home. Recently lost my job so ths is going to have to be my money maker. I am actually in contact with Chrysler about permission on using the Jeep name. I know someone who already got written permissin so it shouldn't be an issue. Wow! Very close! I frequently go to Murrieta and Temecula. Do you know about the sign supply shop in Riverside? It's called S&W plastics and they sell tons of vinyl all different sizes, transfer tape, and banners as well as a bunch of plastic bottles, picture frames, and lots of miscellaneous cool stuff. http://www.sandwplastics.com/?osCsid=6e3e9a8160d46b747a07a2c0701ddccf I use a USC Laserpoint. Software depends on the design that i am making pretty much. I frequently use Photoshop CS6, Inkscape, or Coreldraw for design, and I use Signcut for my cutting software. I have Signblazer Elements but i don't like the software and never use it.

Trouble Setting up SCPro with Laserpoint cutter

Don't expect to get any help when you talk to people like an asshole. I run off Com 3. Sounds like you need to read the instructions again and try to set it up again. If that does not work, just give USCutter a call and they will walk you through everything. Their technical support is top notch and best of all the people are from the USA. Jeff.

Signcut Pro cutting random lines through my design

How do you know that it's the software? Have you inspected the files to be sure that there is no hidden lines? When you click the scizors to cut the decal make sure you click preview and check the cut lines.
  17. Thanks for your reply and input. So should i invest in 10" vinyl for banners? I only stock 24" but on occasion it's out of stock at my local sign supply shop. I currently have a roll of 12" black and a roll of 12.5" light blue. Other than that they are all 24" rolls. What do you charge for windshield banners? Jeff.

    New here :) 3-12-2013

I have used Greenstar and i don't have a problem with it. I have sold decals 8 months ago and they are still on the vehicles and not fading. I also didn't have any issues weeding so i give it a thumbs up so far. I have also used Oracal which is very good and easy to weed but by a LONG shot i recommend Hexis vinyl. I was given a roll for free and it's the best vinyl that i have. It's 2mil and the easiest vinyl that i have ever used to weed. Maybe it is some type of easyweed? idk but it's the best roll that i own and on the up side it's a huge roll of 12.5"x either 50 or 75 yards.

Yeah, i think it does but you would have to elaborate and give more detils on where these "plates" are. Jeff.

new here need help on purchase

I have the Laserpoint and words cant explain how good it has been to me. You won't regret your purchase. Upon purchase one of the options is a Greenstar 12-Color Vinyl Starter Pack http://www.uscutter.com/12-Color-Vinyl-Starter-Pack and it will be discounted to like less than 100 bucks. I got the transfer tape starter pack, and laserpoint cutter and came in just under $900.
