  1. I cannot seem to get my SBE to cut .bmp files. It keeps giving the message that the BMP files will be ignored. Am I missing something here? Any Fix? Thanks! Andy

Yes. SBE (or any s/w that I know of) will only cut vector images.  You must vectorize 1st.  In SBE you can do that successfully on some images by converting to Black & White then Vectorize.  I believe these option are under the image menu.

Otherwise, you need to vectorize in AI, Corel, InkS, or other software.

  2. here ya go.

Wow, it's pretty KOOL to have an artist jump in with something kool like that.  What software did you create that with?  Or was it already a graphic with the snow on top?  I had tried some ice/snow but, just put on each top of the K and it didn't look good at all.  Your's looks really great.

    Thank you,

    Regis

  3. If you make a design with red, blue, and green components, you might choose black for your registration squares.

Then, in the cutter screen you would also select black when you cut each color (cntrl select).

the registration squares appear in each color cut

  4. Once vectorized in InkScape, make sure you click and drag the original image out of the way and delete it, oleaving you with the cuttable vector. Now click on File, then Save As and select .eps from the drop-down menu, and make sure you re-name the file up at the top and save it some place easy to find. There is a little window that pops up once you save, so just make sure the middle one is checked and click OK.

Open SignBlazer, go to File, then Import the file you just saved.

Works just as described.  I was not deleting the original graphic.  And sure enough, I can do the 3 color trace just like you did earlier.  I could not make the 8 color/layer work but, believe I just ran out of ram for that (and wouldn't use it anyways).

Thank you for taking the time to "drag" some of us through user problems.  And I've got nearly 30 years in graphics (I even taught Harvard Graphics for a few years ...if you are old enough to recognize that!

    Thanks again,

    Regis

  5. You have to "export" the image as a eps from inkscape, then you can import the eps file into SBE.

I'm having same....there is no export to .eps from Inkskape.  Can "save as .eps"  but, can not import into SBE.  I can import the saved fine into Corel but, not into SBE.

What could I be doing wrong?

  6. Tracee,

I was having some similar setup problems.  After blade adjustment and re-adjustment (to get it right), then upped the pressure to 120,  the next suggestion (from this forum) that made EVERYTHING better on my PCUT was to slow it down.  I first dropped to 30 and it cut perfect but, made a lot more noise (and not a good kind).  I bumped it up to 40 and "I'm a happy camper" and all works well.

  7. I've been using SBE for about a month without a problem (well, not with the s/w anyways).  Last night I went to cut and nothing appeared on the cut screen except small box in lower front corner.  I found out that now, I have to "select" the whole image before going to cut screen.  Then I get the list of colors to choose what to cut.

Is my SBE corruped now or is there some setting that I messed with accidently?  Or?

    Appreciate any help/tips,

    Regis

  8. I'm running Corel Draw 12 suite on my main PC.  I just ordered Corel X3 for my laptop.  It is pretty cheap now that X4 is out.  Any features specifically good for cutable signs (better than 12 that is)?

    Thanks,

    Regis
