Could you post a parts breakdown of this area? Sure would be nice to communicate with the right terms/parts. Thank you, Regis -
Would someone be so kind as to describe when/where to use an overlaminant? Thank you, Regis

I'm running Corel Draw 12 suite on my main PC. I just ordered Corel X3 for my laptop. It is pretty cheap now that X4 is out. Any features specifically good for cutable signs (better than 12 that is)? Thanks, Regis

Thanks fire. It came set at 60 and perhaps that is why I have some problems on smaller items. I'll experiment within that range. Thanks again, regis

I totally agree with evveryone that there is not enough "THANKS & SUPPORT" for fire, police, & emt folks. I'm semi-retired. Was computer systems engineer & manager and now starting new sign business (while doing some real estate). Regis

I have been trying to cut some small clip art images and ran into problem (large files and lots of cutting for simple image. Fount out that I had black layer ontop of black layer. Attached is one of the files. When I seperated the layers there are 2 images. I would like to know if this should be 2 color or just a different view? Would someone clear this up for me? Thanks, Regis work-cowboy.SBD work-cowboy.SBD

Will C88 print on vinyl or just for transfers?

If you use CorelDraw, they, http://www.smartdesigns.com/ have free online training every friday at 3 pm eastern. Looking at schedule, there are a couple days that interest me. Worst that can happen is you'll get more sales literature/calls. Regis

I asked a seller foa any setup or pressure information. Got reasonably prompt reply with: " Use at least 180 to 220 grams slow speed and tip about 1/8 from surface" I don't know if I'm willing to crank-up my brand-spanking-new PCUT quite yet......at least until I paid for it with incom [lol] Regis

Has anyone here tried the pcut with diamond tip for engraving? I see them advertised for Roland and supposed to fit PCUT. I don't know about aluminum (even very light) moving without having flat bed to lay on. Any good/bad experience? Thanks Regis

I got pleasant sales call from SmartDesigns today. I was impressed by the webinar so I was willing to discuss/listen. Seems like they have an intro version that includes the replace feature that they showed. And, supporting artwork suitable for cutting (and not just printing). I'm tempted and will talk again on monday. Anyone jumping into this venture? Regis

Wow, my father had 16 brothers & sisters (makes 17). I have 1 brother, 2 sisters, 3 sons, and 2 grandchildren.
-
Congradulations. One caution though about working with someone elses material. If something had gone wrong and the vinyl go damaged then replacing can be a problem. Not so much cost with vinyl but, when I did engraving, I'd get folks wanting me to engrave their special spoon or....whatever. If you have any accidential damage, replacement can be costly.

I see some great websites here. I'm just going to have to work on mine as it is "almost" embarrassing compared to these. Well done, Regis

Is there any backing on those sheets or do you attach a backing somehow? thanks

Tracee, I loaded your's and see what you mean. Short solution is to rotate slightly aligning with grid line. Funny thing,,,I changed font to Arial (cyr) and the line is balanced. ? Didn't try anymore Using Distort, I see what you said about making bottom of text slightly smaller. I never noticed that (probably because of using large radius). Regis
-
Guess I just got used to using the Manipulate, Distortion, and arc. Regis
-
Are you ...entering text. then select text, then Manipulate then Distortion and then Arc?

I just did one to arch above a spare tire. I found it impossible to get straight AFTER initial arching. But, you "should" see a dotted line going across from one node to the other as you begin to move each node. It will look jagged if not straight and smooth if equal. Hope this makes sense. Regis

Does Rapid-tac or one of the formulas here actually help adhesion or just help position vinyl? Thanks Regis

If there is a sign supply usa near you, they have 50' roll on sale untill the end of July. Cuts very easy with utility knife. I simply made a pattern (11" X 18") for cars. The 12" is good for trucks but hits a lot of cars on chrome strip or sharper bend accross the door. Regis

Thanks all. I was hoping it did because while weeding, I end up lifting and touching a letter (or part) here and there with my fingers. But, so be it, more practice (and throw-aways).
