  1. yesterday i just cleaned an image that took me like 4 hrs to clean after using the quicktrace, the image is very big (26x29") and there were LOTS of nodes, i finished cleaning it today and i can say i got +1 in my ability to vector (my wrist can tell) if there were a customer that wants to vector an image like this, i wouldnt know how much to charge to vectorize it and weed it.

how do you guys weed something bit and that has all vinyl lines that needs to be removed connected between them? i had to do it by parts tearing apart some vinyl while removing them. here is the image

now the hard part for me will be to place the app tape >.< i always mess it with it.

  2. hahaha yeah, i have a cheap cutter and its a pain to weed small cuts since it doesnt cut perfectly and there are corners that arent cut and when i peel it, it leaves a dot, but so far, i am doing ok for the sizes i have done, i want a graphtec cutter :(

  3. just wow, did u make that snake from scratch? or u got a jpg and vectorized it from there? thats a very nice image, i dont think i could do something like that lol and to weed it D= or even let my cutter do those small cuts >.<

  4. I agree , but I think everybody including me is assuming it is going on a white background . If on a different color . it should be totally different as far as looks & readability :) . I like more of a shawdow in either case .

actually i was thinking it would be in a window or clear door, since its a phone number :P but could be in a truck or something like that too hehehe

  5. i woudl try to cut it but i dont know if my cutter will be able to do those small cuts lol

Mexican flag uses an eagle too so if u draw or get a snake below it, i think many mexicans will buy it

  6. The cutting strip is the white line at the front of the plotter that the blade rides to and fro on.

oohh, well it does look normal, its not sticking out and its firmly in the machine, there is a little plastic that comes out because the first time i tried to cut it was cutting it, thats how i damaged my first blade, but it shouldnt lift the vinyl.

when i was cutting a homer simpson that i took the eps somewhere here, it was around 4" and was cutting all the vinyl with the wax paper out. this happened to me once but when i moved the image, there was an outline in the image and i think the cutter cut it twice in the same place, thats why it cut the paper, but i checked it and made this vector myself (skull one) and there was no outline or anything =\

  7. each roll of vinyl is different you may have set it for a thicker vinyl and this is a bit thinner. speed is way too high imo i cut at about 50 to 100, try going down to 30g or so. There could be a small piece of vinyl stuck in the cutter head or on the blade shaft.

i know they are different, but i did the test cutting ti manually and applying force myself to see how much it cut, someone told me to use 100g and around 400 speed. and there was no vinyl in the cutter head

Try some test cuts at a lower force setting. Also, you should have very little of the blade sticking out of the blade holder. You might have a damaged blade. Did you try a new blade?

yes, there is a very little blade sticking out and i dont have a new blade, the first time i got it, i tried it and the head was offtrack and i didnt know, and it was cutting in the plastic of the cutter and damaged that blade, i changed it for this one and this doesnt seem damaged, the new blades will arrive today, i still have the 60 grade one tho.

Check your cutting strip to make sure it isn't sticking up along where it cut deeper.... This happened to mine I had to pull the strip out and re-seat it.

cutting strip? sorry i didnt get this one, my main isnt english and i learned playing games so.... xD and if u mean the vinyl not sticking to the blade, its not sticking (sometimes it does tho, when they are small pieces)

  8. i was cutting a skull for a friend and in one side it cut through the wax paper while in the other side it didnt, this has happened to other files too.

right now i have speed of 400 and force of 90g, blade cuts only the vinyl when i tried to cut with my hand, at first this didnt happen, but now its happening more frequently.

i have it connected with the Serial port to Serial port since yesterday, days before was from USB to USB and i dont remember if it did that with the usb connection.

picture taken from the back since the front is white and will be very hard to take a picture of it

  9. i cut 4 from the library of the signblazer, if i take a closer look, by the lines they seem a little weavy too like if i were watching the autobots logo too, i tried 2 times with one EPS that someone posted here, both times it cut thru the wax and sometimes peel off the vinyl (i even used W40 as someone suggested) but with i think because they were kinda small? =\ ............ never mind, just removed some parts from the vinyl and they were small too and didnt peel off =\

they dont look weavy after removing the vinyl from them, but when i was looking at the lines before removing the vinyl, i could see a little weavy

and as music said, the part around the eyes of autobots looks weavy in the cut, but most of the rest looks normal

  10. i uploaded it already in the share your eps section :P

and i did already what you mentioned, i have cut a many decals already and it barely makes a line in the wax paper, i took it out too from the machine and cut a vinyl manual to check if it was cutting right because the first time i did the cut, it was cutting the entire vinyl (wax included) but moved the image and it had black lines on the image, so i just deleted them and then it cut once and normal, but still cut weavy =\

  11. i installed a COM pci card in my pc (friend had a spare one) and i connected it to my cutter SC 34", i tried my first cut and it came with some weavy cuts and i just vectorized it in corel draw so it should have straight lines, i thought first it was because of the USB to USB connection as many had mentioned, but this time its Serial to Serial so it should work right? attached is the decal i cut (2.5")

the lines i mentions are the ones around the eyes and its not caused by the carbon fiber
