Great work

Nice details on the smaller items. Great job. Ever since I got my equipment I have been making stuff for myself and have only made a couple of things for profit lol.

I have recently decided to get into the t-shirt industry and I'm currently working on my own "brand". I'm using Stahls Fashion Film and have washed the sample shirts as randomly as possible, meaning I'm not following any instructions and just throwing them in the wash with whatever. I've yet to get any peeling after 2-3 washes each. It all depends on your install procedures, if you follow them to the tee(pun) you should be ok -- of course this depends on your equipment. I have a cheapo china heat press, so instead of 160 degrees celsius, Im using 162 and I may switch to 165. You just have to test different settings in order to get the perfect finish. Good luck!

I had posted another similar question regarding my brand-new MH-871 cutting curves erratically and that turned out to be a font issue as opposed to a cutter issue. Well after changing fonts and messing around with the settings, I'm now getting a better finish on my curves but it is skipping/tapping when making them. Anytime I cut a "P" or an "O", which are two of the letters on a friends logo, while cutting the curves, the blade start tapping against the vinyl which causes a dotted cut, which then looks bad after weeding. I tried adjusting the blade, the pressure, the speed and I tried a small amount of oil on the bladeholder for proper lubrication. I'm using CADCUT's Super Film which is insanely thin, if that matters. I haven't tried using the pen plotter to see if it does it, so I'll try that tonite. But in the meantime, any ideas as to what it could be? Thanks for the support. Joey

Me again - more cutting problems - MH-871

Okay, finally figured out the problem -- it was the software. I was using Roland's DR. Stika 2.2 and even though it cuts, it doesn't give me a "weld" function as in SBE. So I gave SBE a try last nite and printed the VW logo and it came out perfectly with a .20mm offset ont he blade. Thanks to everyone who tried to help, sorry if it was a stupid mistake on my part. I hope others learn from it. Joey -
Me again - more cutting problems - MH-871

By speed 4, do you mean 400ms? -
I will add another super simple cutting software that the OP can use for letters/numbers. That would be -- Roland's Dr. Stika 1.8 Yes, I know it is old but it's so simple my 3year old niece could run it with no problems. You can find it here http://lrtgroup.com/ - download link is at the bottom of the page. I'm currently using it just for simple stuff and it works great. If the OP has a UScutter, he can just use the driver's on the Fusion page with no problems.

I'll try the pen tonite and see what happens. Can I ask, what pressure setting do you use for the SuperFilm? -
MH-871 skipping/tapping wheb cutting curves.

Hello everyone, my name is Joey and I recently purchased a MH-871 from USCUTTERS. I was able to setup the cutter and get it going rather quickly, but the more I cut the more I have noticed issues when cutting curves/circles. It just cuts them rather choppy and it seems to be a software issue - I'm using SignBlazer. I used to have a Roland Stika and I still have the software, so I tried that and I still get the chopiness(sic). I can zoom in on the font and I clearly see the chopiness on the screen, so it seems like I need a better software that can handle true vector graphics in order to get clean cuts around curves. I have looked around and there are a bunch of different options to choose from; one of those being the Roland CutStudio package for around $69. Is anyone here using that software who can asure me it will cut clean circles/curves? If not that one, what would be a simple to use, rather inexpensive software you would recommend? Thanks for the help! Joey L.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I decided to use a different but similar font and it seems like it will be okay. I haven't cut anything yet because I'm gonna try to use Corel Draw with a Roland Driver, but from the looks of it, all points to the font itself. I'll post pics once I'm done. Joey

I'm at work, so I'm not able to give you any settings numbers, sorry. For all the other replies, that's exactly what I mean, you can clearly see all of the short straight lines when the vinyl is cut. So, if I wanted to make sure wether I can cut a perfect circle in either software, should I just make one when I get home and try? Do you guys know of a specific font, kinda similar to "Steiner Light" which may have better rounded curves? And let me say, thanks a million for the incredible amount of help and support, you guys have gone way beyond what I expected. Joey

Actually all of the fonts I tried to look at had the same issues... Isn't this supposed to be 100% true vector software?

Okay a bit more info: I'm using Stahl's Super Film/CCH20 material for the shirts. The materials is super thin and really flexible. The cutter makes perfect squares, and diagonal lines but when it comes to curves - it gets sloppy - as mentioned before. I can zoom in on the fonts in my laptop and I clearly see all the nodes and their un-curve-like edging(wow I just made that one up)... How can I get perfect circles, or "O's" and such?

Actually the issue I'm having is with text - using the font "Steiner light" which is what a friend of mine asked to use for some shirts I'm making for him. He has the letters "O" and "P" on the logo and as I mentioned, it cuts the curves really choppy. Slice -- I did read on the forums the issues with the blade not fully meeting its starting point and I have yet to comes across that problem - yayy - but thanks anyway for the info. I used to race all kinds of things lol. Now I'm a BMW tech and I help a local raceshop with electrical stuff on german brands. I'm actually now more into mopeds than cars haha.
