    General "New Guy" Questions

Yes my local vocational rehabilitation service is helping where they can. However financial help is not available in my area as the coffers for such programs are empty but my business plan does not need that kind of help right now. And I found out I can keep getting my disability until my business is making x amount of profit per month consistently over 5 months.

    I'm done

I am new to this board and field of work. I have been blessed with a local guy teaching me on weekends and showing me some of the ropes. When my plotter arrived it didn't work but I called tech support and Benjamin did a fine job explaining my problem (head was not on the track) so I put the head on the track as Benjamin explained. Well "I" did something wrong because the belt fell off. So 2nd call to uscutter tech support I got Scott OMG I thought this adventure was doomed he wanted to know how the belt fell off... I couldn't answer this question as I didn't know so after 5 minutes of being drilled on how the belt fell off and not knowing how to answer this I started unscrewing the sides of the machine while being chastised.. Finally I asked to speak to Benjamin as I knew from prior expierience with him he wouldn't care how it fell off he would want it back on and working. Before Ben got on the phone I was 90% done fixing it. took him 2 seconds to tell me where the belt hooked up. uscutter has provided me with the best support I can expect for what I am paying for. Yes I knew before I bought my starter pack I was buying a liyu not an sc. But I bought it anyways because you have to learn on something. For those of us new to this business we need to read these boards and listen to those who came before us. I don't think anybody made this investment to not make money. It's a new business for most of us and if someone on this forum is going to take even 5 seconds out of thier life to teach me something about this business you can bet your butt I am going to listen with both ears. Years ago sign makers of any kind had to go through a lengthy apprentice program. With uscutter and the knowledge on this board I have already made $200.00 and my website isn't even up yet. So add me to the list of people behind uscutter for this service but I have no complaints. I just need to learn a new business since I cannot walk anymore and being in a wheelchair feeling helpless sucks and for a few hundred bucks uscutter has given me hope I can still make a living for my family. Sorry for the long post. Mark

Stickers in a #10 envelope, receipt?

cool I have been learning this business from a guy at smileys flea market. I am disabled and wheelchair bound. This weekend I am up in Pennsylvania with my step kids because thier grandmother is stage 4 pancreatic cancer. But when I get back home maybe I can drive over to black mountain for a meet and greet and who knows we could help each other out if you have equipment I don't or I have supplies you don't or even if one of us takes on a 2 man job and needs help. Because the grandmother is on thier fathers side I am stuck in a motel till sunday unless things go terribly wrong then I am up here till after the funeral. But this is good because I am getting to do alot of work on the website. Mark

    General "New Guy" Questions

First off welcome to the site. I have been working my buddies shop on weekends so I can answer the heat press question. I wish I had the money to add 1 right away. Having a decal shop like my buddy who is training me 50% of his business is walk in and impulse buy from the flash on the walls much like a tattoo shop. The other 50% are from guys like me who buy cars and use decals to sport them up for resale. out of all this I noticed 25% of his sales are heat transfer sales as in hats and tshirts. They get a decal for thier car then want a shirt or hat to go with it. However his shop is a niche shop dealing mainly with automotive clip art and such. So if you have the funds to invest I do suggest a heat transfer machine with the attachments to do hats and mugs. Myself I am disabled and didn't have those funds available but those thimgs are on my wishlist. BTW side note I am out till monday, my last weekend of apprenticing wooohoooo! next week I am on my own. Mark

Stickers in a #10 envelope, receipt?

A buddy of mine who does decals on ebay always ships using the $3.00 envelope and the confirmation fee. In order to make his envelope thick enough for ebays requirements he puts a packing peanut in each envelope. Mark

Hello All New to the site

heh ... got the head on but the belt fell off during the process. Benjamin in tech support is tired of hearing my voice today. Scott answered first and wanted to play twenty questions about how the belt fell off... I don't know how the dang belt fell off just tell me how to put the dang thing back on. Benjamin great tech up and running in minutes. Scott not so much he needs people skills training or another coffee. Thanks for the welcome Dan great to be here on another adventure in life. Mark

After I move it by hand it goes all the way to the right hand side and now I see the noise is it wants to go further than possible.

Hello All New to the site

I can move by hand but it is very tight and makes a metal to metal sound as I move it. Thanks for the quick reply.
