I've been searching on the free font sites but I can't seem to find any really good ones... any ideas?

man, I've got to re-evaluate my cutter setting. After watching your video you can weed like a machine. When I weed I've got to really take my time to make sure only the parts I want to remove come with it. Perhaps I need to tweek my settings in attempt to make better cuts.

I'm making cubscout awards for the raingutter race and I need some boat images! Post what ever you got I need lots of options! Thanks in advance!

I screen printed these but I used the method where you cut the vinyl and stick it to the screen instead of using emulsion. I saw a video on it some where on these forums. The method worked pretty good. Saved me the hassle of exposing the screens. But on a run of more than 10 shirts I will probably stick with the "real" screenprinting method. After about the 10th shirt the vinyl started lifting a little. Luckly I only had 13 shirts to do.

Yeah the exposure part of it is the worst part. MAJOR P.I.T.A. but it gets better. Takes lots of patients, lots of trial and error at first. Thats whats cool about the vinyl method, when doing a short run it cuts out the exposure steps. It took me messing up several screens before I realized with my set up I needed to expose the screen to light for exactly 11.5 minutes no more and no less. And depending on the light source and the distance that exposure time changes, you just have to find what works with your set up. But I like screen printing more than the heat pressed vinyl. I don't know I just like the finished product more. But I was playing around with screen printing before I got my cutter so I'll always love my first love more. lol I use just a basic 300 dollar flash dryer to cure the ink. I used to use just a heat gun but I found when doing more than just a handful of shirts it really sucks using the gun (timewise) as well as the shirts weren't getting cured good enough. I get most my supplies from www.silkscreeningsupplies.com they have good prices and are very friendly! Also ebay has lots of stuff. Trust me, I was REALLY scared of bombing it but I did a lot of test prints before I was comfortable to do it on his pre-numbered shirts. But thanks for all the good reviews everyone! I'm definitly proud of them. It was only my 2nd attempt at a 2 color process with screen printing. But I think they turned out great.

Right now I have a 12" cutter (mh365), and I'm dying to get a larger one. My question is.. Whats size is your cutter? I think I want either a 24" or 36" but I'm not sure which one... Give me your opinions, please. Right now I'm just doing little decals here and there but I'd like to get something that could help me create a home decor / banner and sign business with.

Thats whats buggin me. I looked on ebay and 24" pcuts are going for anywhere from 225-310. After shipping I'm sure I paid at least $240 for the 12". But if I sell it I'll put it on ebay and see what it will go for as a used 12".

Well, the original reason I got the 12" was kind of on a whim. I've been doing screen printing for a while and I was talking on some screen printing forums and someone mentioned vinyl and I looked into it. So I got the 12" on ebay for about 200 bucks plus shipping just as a test to see if I could make money with it. I quickly made my money back! I didn't get it for shirts, I got it for just basic decals for my band and other friends bands. and after I got it I've found all the cool things you can do with vinyl. As word spread through my church and family that I do decals, people started wanting wall decor and vehical stuff. And I always feel dumb saying "well, the cutter is only 12" so it has to be with in that size." So now I want to step it up and look into doing more stuff and possibly get serious about branching off my small screen printing business to offer vinyl stuff as well. As for selling the 12" I'm still not sure what I'm doing with it. The wife says if I'm buying a new one I'd have to sell the old one. lol But I was considering keeping it for back up or for smaller orders... But I think I'm losing the war with the wife. so if I do end up selling it I'll let you all know. The sucky part is 15" vinyl doesn't fit through it. (14" max) I buy the oracale 651 12" for it and if I need a color they don't carry in 12" I buy the 15" and cut it down. It sucks as far as that goes. Thats just another reason I need a bigger one.

hahaha! The point of subject line was to get people to look at this thread I guess it worked. lol but yeah I have a 12" refine. I got it a little while ago off ebay. Looks just like the refine models but only 12"s. I think I wanna go with the 24" pcut it seems to be the drug of choice for most people I'm talking to. If funds work in my favor I'm considering going up to the 34" That way I don't do what I'm doing now. Regreting not getting the largest one possible upfront then having to buy up in a year from now. :- I don't know desisions... desisions...

WOW, seems like 24" is a safe size to go with.

Looks GREAT! And 5 colors, wow! My question is do you layer the colors straight onto the banner or do you layer them before hand and apply them at once? -
For some reason I can't get the pen tool down. I'm self tought (aka internet tutorials) in photoshop and illustrator and I think I get around both of them pretty good.... With the exception of the darn Pen tool. I guess I better get practicing.
