  1. I used the Polyline function in SignBlazer along with the Mirror function. Took about 5 minutes. Hardest part was figuring out how to layer the peices. I finally decided on laying the silver first then the orange then the black. I left the silver under both the black and orange on the diamond.

  2. not trying to start any wars here. it is well documented that the lp machines don't like to cut large files by way of the usb connection. the fix has always been touse a good quality serial cable if you have the port on your computer. if you don't have a serial port, then the next best solution is a keyspan adapter used at the computer end of a serial cable. it may be that the users having trouble with the usb connection also have alot of other peripherals using usb connections as well.

  3. Vinyl done with style - select the red and white using the color select window (R click on color selections at bottom).  To select more than one color, press ctrl while left clicking on the colors of choice.  Then goto Arrange, Weld, Punch Through.  Then delete the white.

Registration marks.  Here is one for SignBlazer.  Just OPEN, Check Append, Select the file.  It will add it to the graphic, and cuts in all colors/layers.

Yes registration marks can cause you to waste a lot of vinyl.

this is great information. thanks for making my brain bigger!

  4. it is an either or, thing. you are best off using the serial connection. if that is not an option try the serial adapter at the computer end using the serial cable. if you don't have an adapter, then your final choice would be just a usb cable. it seems however that the usb connection is not up to par with the needs of the cutter. a lot of people have had problems cutting large or complicated designs on the usb connection. the serial connection seems to solve those issues. remember to use a good quality "null modem" serial cable.

  5. the best but not the fastest way to get a true vector of an image, is to trace it using the polyline tool. i have heard of people taping tracing paper on their monitor and hand tracing then scanning the hand trace. if i have to vectorize something i usually use vector magic though.

  6. I have a document saved that I want to cut in SB.  Basically, it is the shape of a Christmas tree but with lines of various Christmas words typed in different fonts.  (attached)  I saved it as a pdf but also have it saved as a docx.

Is there an easy way for me to be able to cut it using SB?

    Thanx,

    XMom

why don't you just create it in sbe. if i knew what each font is, i could do it in 5 minutes.

  7. Nice tables, I need something like that.

Looks like some homebrew fermenting too.  What's in the works?  I've got 7 gallons of cider that needs bottled and a Dunkelweizen to brew this week.

25 gallons of apple cider, soon to be "hard", 3 gallons of pear cider, and 3 gallons of spiced pear cider (the juice from making pear butter). i don't bottle my cider, i keg it in 5 gallon soda kegs. i plan to put some flourescent lights for use as a light table. the 5,000 watt light is to expose screens for screenprinting.
