  1. Have any of you mac people (or ex mac people) found a way to convert the fonts on a mac to windows?

I looked in the wife's mac font collection and all the names look messed up to me. (Windows guy.) And windows will not recognize what she has. Most show up like ._Lesli for example.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  2. Well, created a new file this morning and had the same problem with "select within". My "Design Central" disappears and will not come back. Then when clicking on something, the save as window pops up. Went back to 2.9 and everything is fine. Guess I will have to put up with the "update available" notice until the next version.

Yeah, now and then I have to forget something for a bit till it causes me problems - guess just part of getting older and actually doing things.  my step father hasn't had a hobby or much activities since retiring so he makes far fewer mistakes :P

  3. I got it figured out. 1 of the settings in "outline" was wrong. Now it isn't crashing when I try to create what the setting does without me. Brain must have been in corel mode.

That is what happens when you use a program that is not really for what you are doing.

The files where originally going to be cut, but it became easier to print them.

Sorry what I meant was registration marks the cutter can read to then cut after I’ve layered.

I’m making magnetic signs, was just looking to see if I could mount the vinyl to the magnetic sheet and then cut the sheet afterwards rather than cutting them individually and putting them together.

if it was printed media it would be fine because I can print the registration marks, but I can’t see anyway to cut them from Vinyl instead.

illustrator and cutting master with a graphtec 7000

If I am Reading that right, you want to lay a full sheet of vinyl on the magnet, cut and weed, then lay another sheet of vinyl, cut the second layer, weed and so on.

No, what makes you think you can get the first layer to stay on the magnet when you weed the second, third or however many layers you want?

If I am misunderstanding the question I do apologize.

  5. I just have to get this out there.

I put a cobra ink cis in my Epson printer a while ago.

For the past few years I have been printing door inserts (to go behind glass) for Ronald McDonald house here in Ontario.  They have always been impressed with the vibrant colors and how good they come through the glass.

Well, they ordered a bunch more and I noticed I was getting low on my ink, so pulled out the bottles to refill and to my shock, the cobra ink I was using was just over 6 1/2 years old. Still perfect prints every time!

If I am not mistaken, ink only has a shelf life of a year.

Richard at cobra ink has some GOOD stuff!

    Good job Richard!!!!!!!!

    update:

got new blade holder in and installed it, cuts are a million times smoother and no more chatter. very clean cuts but..... still cannot get a good cut out.

im cutting out a 1" x 5" rectangle and the depth of the cut varies from one end of the shape to the other. for example, across the top cut of the rectangle i will have a 1" section where it has cut through the material and another 1" section where its barely scratching the material... and even spots where its cutting entirely through the material and the liner.

i think this machine is just a lost cause at this point i have literally tried everything kn own to mankind with this thing and cant even cut out a 1x5 shape successfully. ive honestly just lost hope in this piece of junk.

The only way you can cut the liner is if there is to much blade. You HAVE to set it using skeeters instructions.
