CP-2500 Blade Problem
360_Media replied to ohiovalleygrafx's topic in Copam Cutting Plotter Support Requests
This seems very unresolved... there are many posts explaining this problem and none I have seen are resolved. What's going on? Are people just dissappearing and figuring it out themselves or giving up and selling their Copams? -
Copam skipping lines and not cutting deep enough

Was this ever resolved? I am having the same (VERY ODD) issue. It seems to have developed over night... I have not changed anything. Anyone left to help? -
My Copam 24" tracks terribly on long jobs... I'm running a job that is 71" long and it's only about 20% completed and you can already tell that the tracking is completely off! Why oh why?! ... does anyone have any suggestions besides violently throwing the cutter out of the window? :\ *FINAL CONCLUSION: Just wasted 24" x 74" piece of vinyl!

So I'm pretty excited about this... you see I bought my vinyl cutter solely because of this job knowing that this order would pay for my cutter, supplies and even put a bit of money in my pocket. (Although I wasn't completely sure I could figure out how to actually cut the order since I've never cut a single piece of vinyl before) BUT here it is and it looks amazing so you could imagine my relief! *This is only a small piece of the entire order:

I've taken your advice and after a lot of testing before the cut it seems to be tracking well enough. Thanks! *Did'nt realize the tracking was such a problem... I cut other jobs about this long and it was effortless. The only difference is that I had used a 10YARD roll instead of a 50YARD roll but I'm not sure why that would matter. -
Made this for my guitar and love the way it came out so here we are...

Thanks a lot guys!

I never meant to become a vinyl cutter or have my company really advertise/promote the service. I've always received orders from my clients and outsourced it... Until I received a HUGE order and realized that the order would pay for the cutter, materials AND I'd even be left with a small profit. I guess my point is: anyone who is considering to buy a cutter and start selling should totally pursue it. It's good business! Order = $1,200 Cost of cutter & materials = $998 Profit = $202

Here's the EPS! enjoy. CASH DECAL.eps.zip

That was cut on a Copam 24"... I originally designed that logo years ago so I had no choice. I'm weeding it as best as I could but some of the smaller vinyl will just stay in if not it will take me ages to weed! Thanks!

The font is "bleeding cowboy". And sure I'll upload the file tomorrow.

What's domed decals? -
So two days ago I had never cut a single scrap of vinyl. To my surprise (and relief) I actually got the hang of it pretty fast. Here are two decals I made for my kids as practice... (Took 2 Hours on illustrator converting the images to vector)

Correction. Here it is! TROOPER.eps.zip

Perfect! Thanks -
Is there any way to have the cutter make a final cut after finishing a job so that the job is cut away from the vinyl roll? (If that question makes any sense at all?) Or do I have to manually cut the job off the vinyl roll every time?
-
Oh wow. Ok well thanks! I'll just keep using that
-
Yeah that's the slot I've been using. I just wasn't sure if over time I'd damage the machine by using that slot to cut over and over again.

My 24" Copam is arriving tomorrow and after reading ALL of the issues most people have with Mac & Cutters; I am convinced I'll have hair pulling frustrations setting up! I am new to vinyl cutting and from what I've read the software and cutters have endless issues and technical support is a nightmare. What have I gotten myself into? USB to serial adaptor... Either Intel Macs need one or they don't! Why the big mystery?! And WTF is a dongle?! :\
