To give a little unnecessary background info..... Im not really a business (though i do have a business license), just do lots of "side stuff." I have a sandblast cabinet so i decided to try etching some drinking glasses for Christmas presents. They were really popular and everyone wanted one. I was charging $5 per glass. At the time it was costing me about 50 cents for the glass and $1 to have the vinyl cut. Other costs are very minimal. Well now i have my own vinyl cutter Now im in the works with getting a contract with several bars in town. They will provide their own glasses. One bar that is really interested right now wants bulk glasses with their logo 50 or 100 and they also want me to do mugs with peoples names on them, for a "mug club" thing. Where you bring your own mug in and get cheap drinks. They provide the glasses about 3"x3" vinyl for stencils it takes longer to apply the vinyl and take the vinyl off then it does to etch the glass, it takes about 20 seconds to etch the glass. What would you guys charge for something like this? I'd like to get some kind of sliding scale pricing printed out. Price would go down depending on number of glasses.

im going to try to cut this logo out of a single piece of vinyl. I don't know how to do the circular text, if somebody could help me with at least that part, it would be a big help. Thanks

very similar but not quite the same. I was only making a 2 inch stencil so i went ahead and used it, but im going to need to do a more accurate one in the future. Some of the letters were nearly identical, but the A in particular was a long ways off. Thanks you for the help though

i have no idea. When i was selling glasses i was buying glasses 12 packs of glasses from walmart for like 7 dollars, but they were very cheap and broke very easily. How many glasses are in a case?

I just got a vinyl cutter and now i want to cut out my own logo. I designed the logo myself (its custom lettering, not a font), so i have that part, but then i had a local shop do the text and i told them to use something close. Ive had them print up a few different things and now i want it to look the same. So whats the font used here?

those look very nice i do quite a bit of etching with sand blasting. I use silica free sand blasting sand and blast at about 40psi. You can do all sorts of things. Glass (i do a lot of drinking glasses and mirrors), granite, any polished surface, use your imagination

I took a picture of a car in photoshop and made a path selection. There are probably 10 different shapes. When i imported it to illustrator nothing shows up, unless its selected. If i push shift down i can select all the different shapes, but if i try to do anything, it all dissapears. Im sure its some simple setting check box i need to hit but i can't find anything. any help?

my advise is make something simple and recognizable. How many fortune 500 companies have you seen with logos that can't be drawn by an 8 year old? Not any i can think of. Maybe stickerman in text with a little "stickman stickerman" ?

I have a graphic that im trying to make out of plain white vinyl. I got it made in color. But when i turn it into black and white, some of the shapes cross paths and i don't want cuts in my vinyl that doesn't need to be there. Can someone help me out? Every time i hit unite or a similar button, it does basicly the opposite of what i want to it to do waltscolor.ai waltsbw.ai

i had to do a little adjusting to it, can you guys do it for this one? I tried rastersize and live trace and it gave me like 10,000 anchor points waltsbw2.ai

so how did you go about it? Rastersizeing and autotrace would probably work too

its ok if you really can't afford to miss work, but if you don't have any good excuse, other than you will miss oprah, then its just unamerican. If you got arrested for something that you feel your innocent, you'll be glad the sixth amendment is there and that some people are willing to waste their time on your trial. Not every trial is a drunk driver that is obviously guilty, sometimes a jury is actually needed. I just got out of jury duty because i couldn't afford to miss work. Im an electrician and work is very slow. Ive barely been working at all for the past 2 years but right now there is a big job here locally and im working a ton of overtime (60-70 hours). The job is supposed to be completed before summertime. Im currently bringing home about about 6 times what my unemployment was. I wrote a letter saying that this work won't be here long and i can't afford to miss it. I got rescheduled for September and i will be happy to serve if it works out.

I designed a vector in illustrator and imported it into sign blazer. All is well, imported just fine. Then i resized it and went to cut, It cut, but only part of it showed up on the vinyl. So i though it was a problem with the cutter, i started messing with it and i relized that only part of my image is showing up on the cutter screen, The cutter cuts exactly what is shown, but i cant seem to get the whole thing into the cutter screen, even if i select everything? what am i doing wrong?

i did this as a fundraiser for the server costs at probetalk.com. This is the first vector i ever made without using live trace. somebody on the boards here made the font for me. First thing ive ever made with my refine 721. Applied vinyl to the mirror, weeded it out and then masked the rest of the mirror and sandblasted it

i figured out the problem is that my image is in more than one color, so its trying to cut everything seperatly, how do i just make it cut the outlines of everything in one piece of vinyl? Maybe i'll just upload my illustrator vector and you guys can tell me what i need to do probetalk.eps

I've been working on making a vector out of the widmer brothers brewing company logo. I've been working on making it into something that can be cut with 1 color of vinyl. Ultimately im going to etch it onto a mirror to hang on my wall. I was wondering if you guys have any tips?
