In your cutter window there are two tabs in the upper left corner. One is "Space Saving" Male sure none of the boxes are checked. It tries to save space by rearranging all of you peices.

Shadow'd letters and vinyl letters or stickers with color??
Jay2703 replied to juniorranger's topic in Pre-sale questions
Take a look at the bottom of this post. It shows layering. http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?topic=2191.0;topicseen -

Try this. Go to View + Outline/Wireframe. Then do an Edit + Select All. Then click on Node Edit. The box will appear. Then you can delete the nodes that make up the box. I included the fixed file. Ewe-Nique.SBD

Bannerjohn, by you selling that person the sign with the logo on it aren't you profiting from it? Don't you need to know that the person you are selling to has the rights to use the logo first? And even then don't you need permission form the logo owner to use it in the first place?

Cutter Stops Cutting
Jay2703 replied to envirocad's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Support Requests
I kept having the same problem with my PCut. I finally took BannerJohn's advice to others and am now using a serial cable. Problem went away. I am much happier with my cutter now. -
It could use a little more clean up, but her is my try. Dragon.EPS

PCut Blade Holder - Please Help
Jay2703 replied to teksunsweety's topic in Creation PCUT Cutting Plotter Support Requests
In your bottom picture on the far left is what you use to adjust how far out the blade is. As you screw the cover over the blade you keep tightening it until the blade is where you want it. The rubber "O" ring holds tension on the thresds so it doesn't come loose. Keep tightening the cover until the blade is out as Ken said "Half the thickness of a credit card" -
Yes, you did a combine on the 3 instead of a Weld + Total Weld. Jerry, I like the combine for punching out the text. I had not used that before. It eliminated having to erase.
-
I created 2 circles for the ends and a rectangle to join them. Selected the three then I did a Arrange + Merge + Merge all. That made the oval shape. I created the text in a differerent color and moved it on top of the oval. A trap to select both the oval and the text. Arrange + Merge + Punch Through to cut the letters out of the oval. Then I had to erase the letters. (When I did the punch through it turned the letters into curves so I had to select each one sepeerately.) Whole thing took about 5 minutes.

When you go to Cutter Mode there are two tabs in the upper left corner, select the "Save Space" tab and make sure nothing is checked then try again.

two color stripes for a car - tips for cutting and applying?
Jay2703 replied to dtfastbear's topic in General discussion
For the 1" stripes you should be able to but rolls of striping from your local auto supply rather than cutting them yourself. I used to work for a boat manufacturer and that is what we did. A lot less hassle because you can just feed it off the roll and peel the backing off as you go. Put the blue down then lay the balck down either next to it or overlap some. -
I adjust the depth with the blade holder out of the cutter. I adjust so that when I run it over the vinyl on a cut pad it will only cut through the vinyl. Then I put it in the cutter and adjust the pressure.

I will usually use Vector Magic to vectorize jpg's. http://vectormagic.stanford.edu/ Go to this site, Browse to the file location, select your file and hit upload. It walks you through some questions (Multiple choice with 2 or 3 options and graphics to explain) about your image that are pretty self explanitory. It will turn your image into a .eps file that you download to your computer. Import it into SignBlazer. Like anything else the cleaner your graphics are going in the better they come out. Give it a try.

Lisa, what type of files are your other images? It will make a difference on how to use them.

Need advice on which layer first, second, third, and finally forth...
Jay2703 replied to firemalt's topic in General Help
I would do the first layer black, it would be just a circle, The second layer would be blue (Just a circle with the round cutout). Third would be the red circle with the M in it. (Leaving the black showing through) The last layer would be white. The text, the M and the circle. It might be good to make the red circle a little bigger to allow for alignment. This way if your white circle is placed a little off it would cover it. -
It does it on mine. Intel P4 1.6 Ghz 1 GB ram Nvidia GeForce 2 MX/MX400 128 MB with up to date driver Windows XP SP2 22" monitor with resolution at 1680 x 1050 I just considered it more of a nuisance that anything.
