Looks like offset settings to me. What blade are you using (30, 45, 60 degree) and what is your offset set to (In cutter Setup within SignBlazer)?

How do you get the etching to show better?
Jay2703 replied to MadHatterGraphix's topic in Off Topic Section
Yes, I made the wood base too. I've been trying to find a simple base design. The 3D printed is definately the easiest. I found some connectors that clip to the LED strips so no soldering is required. They have the female power connector on the other end. The LED strips slide into the base and I fasten the connector to the base with two sided tape. Slide the female connector into the hole and I'm done. -

It just doesn't go deeper. -

I had one but sold it. Just didn't use it and the material was expensive for the one I had. I was happy with how the etching showed up using the edge lighting. Here is another one I did. -

The base was 3D printed from ABS. The design is etched in lexan purchased from Lowes. 80 Grit AO from Harbor Freight in a small blast cabinet. Etching is not very deep, you can barely feel a ridge. -

Edge lighting like Rlvied has. Inexpensive LED's can be bought and put into bases. -
Love the V-Dub design.

Is it supposed to be permanent or just for a day or two? Long term, I don't think it would hold up.

Some people pay good money to get blasted with UV light.

There is a large market for 3D printed items out there. Shapeways is a website where you can market and sell your 3D printed creations. Some are even printed out of metal. http://www.shapeways.com/?etId=17131219&utm_medium=email&utm_source=sw-email-8&utm_campaign=20140709&ca=email&ct=20140709 GrabCAD is a Website/Library to share 3D designs that can be downloaded for free and printed by anyone. https://grabcad.com/home

Google Sketchup is free design software and with an added STL plug-in you can read and generate .stl files for 3D printing. http://www.sketchup.com/ Most printers come with their own software to read .stl files and ready them for printing.

Any bets on the age of the driver?

I had a 3D printer and sold it. Didn't really have a home use for it.

I remember installing Autocad from 10 of these floppy disks. I don't think I could fit one Autocad drawing on 10 of them now.
-
I still remember the 360kb 5-1/4' floppies.

Has he thought about tinting the windows? Tint on the inside then add any vinyl you want on the outside.

Those small thumb drives ar made for dash boards of newer cars that have a USB port. My dash doesn't have a USB port but does have one for cassette tapes.
-
They make the job a lot easier especially the ones with the air egress pattern in the adhesive.

There isn't enough give in 651 to wrap a car. Wrap vinyls have a lot of stretch to them that you will not get with 651. Look at Oracal's website for the correct selection. http://www.orafol.com/gp/americas/en/products/digital-inkjet/vehicle-wraps-9785
