    How much time?

    I'm at 8d, 4h, 59m ... apparently lurking more than posting

Is there anything else I should get?

That's what I was thinking too, but I'm wondering if I really need the set of 60-degree blades ... or another set of the 45's. But I get the impression that the three blades that were included are going to last me a long, long time. I was just wondering to myself, "will I ever have a need for 60-degree blades?" I'm thinking the answer is probably not, but if I did wouldn't it be great if I already had them? I am soooo my own worst enemy when it comes to stuff like this. hahahaha. I think I need to sell more decals so I can just buy all accessories guilt-free. hehehehe.

    starting a website

I like the images for the layout. There are no rules for web or web design, just unofficial standards and 'best use practices'. If you want to offset your main body frame, then I would suggest that you move the vertical navigational bar to the left, and have the whitewash box on the right (it's a little 'standard' that way). Stick with it though - you're off to a really great start! Are you going to build it yourself?

    Looking to purchase. Please help!

WELCOME to the forum!! If the width of the number doesn't exceed 22" (or so), you can probably just cut one number at a time. You can run a pretty long length. There might be some drifting, but you can try to work with the vinyl to align it as best you can prior to cutting. Good luck, but I definitely think you're on the right path ... just wait until work gets out that you have a cutter and you can cut stuff for everyone else! There's a niche (the forum was discussing niches in another thread). Stick with a US Cutter. It's the best bang for the buck, and the support you get from other forum members is unsurpassed! This forum can help you with just about everything under the sun about cutting (models, materials, graphics, etc.) ... and has a decent off-topic bulleting board too. This is going to be one of the fastest and friendliest forums you will encounter - by far.

    How do you handle fonts?

Just curious to see how others handle their fonts. An admission of stupidity: a few years back my cousin (who is one of those "crafty Martha's") gave me a disc full of fonts. Rather than previewing the fonts, I just uploaded them into my font folder. To say the least, that was a nightmare. Obviously I wasn't thinking about how many I would need to sort through when I would need to type of a document, but have the ability to use the font of my choosing. It took me much, much longer to then scan all the possible fonts, and it slowed down the decision making process too. Too many, maybe just too much. So, do you guys ... Preview then load? Load them all and hunt? Load then unload?

    need help quick!!!

If you're using SBE then it should be showing you a preview of how it sees the cut job. If the cutting window it larger than the images that really need to cut, then you've got some kind of random stuff in your workspace. Although you probably would be able to get a quicker answer if you told us what software you're using

    Help, freeze ups!!!

Are you connected directly to the laptop or are you going thru a hub? There have been issues with cutters when not being connected directly. Is you screen saver kicking on while the cutter is cutting? You could also check to make sure you have the latest driver/software setup - you can check the Sign Blazer forum and website. I had that issue for while (with my LaserPoint), but after uninstalling and reinstalling several times it seemed to remedy the problem. Good luck.

I don't think the 24" stuff is usually punched, so you can pretty much max it out, although there are those little red carriage buttons to avoid

This is how I ride! (Funny video of me)

It brought a nice smile in a hectic day. I saw the comment earlier about dressing up as a clown and thought ... "Hey, he needs the floppy shoes to match." Then realized that you wouldn't be able to pedal it around with big floppy shoes. Enjoy the Ride!

    Getting started soon

I would guess 24" since that's the biggest width that will fit (one letter at a time), however, if you do like John suggests, then you can basically make the letters as tall as you like, and you would only be restricted by the width of the letter itself.

Need help converting this to vector?

It's not the cleanest image, but you can cut with it. Try posting your vectorizing requests in the vector bulletin board, you'd probably get a faster response. I highly recommend Inkscape for vectorizing. Works like a charm, and it's free Off the bat, it doesn't seem that it's a standard Windows Font. Another good resource for fonts (and those are free too): dafont.com Good luck! paris.eps paris.eps

    cleaning the blade

I know time and time again, a dirty blade can wreak havoc on the vinyl. I wanted to know what you guys use to clean the blade with. I guess I've hit a point where my blade and the blade holder started to accumulate some adhesive and just wanted to know what you guys use to get the gunk off. Any suggestions are welcomed! Also... would it be a good idea for me to have one or two 60-degree blades on hand, or are the 3 45-degree ones that shipped with cutter enough for me? Let me know your thoughts

    need more guidance

one of the kiosks at a local mall here charges $1/inch (on the longest side). They didn't specify what width they would go up to, but they had a 24" GraphTec so I suspect the would be willing to honor that ... even if all you had was a single line of text that ran the 24".
  20. Every family usually has one black sheep ... apparently our family's black sheep pops up on this database. And here I thought he was incarcerated for beating on his wife, low and behold, it was actually for a sex offense which probably took place while he was beating his wife. Worse yet, for whatever reasons, he is using my grandmother's address as a place a residence even though she tossed him for the house years ago. Scary, scary, scary.

    Ok dumb question

I wonder if anyone has tried it and how well it works. Will that even fit on the US Cutters?

    Is this right?

My apologies Matt. I was referring my question being lame, not your's. I've just seen several postings that said that a different degree blade might be helpful if you're cutting thick material - I was just wondering what actually constitutes thicker? After crawling through this forum I too, got the impression that the different angles that the members recommend were the opposite of the pic that you posted. And Jenny is correct, he is a she

Niche Market. Do you have one?

Is it the same as etching glass? I've always wanted to learn how to etch glass. That must be so cool.
