Unfortunately the TiVO isn't packaged with any cable subscription (I wish). It's for TiVO only and I would need to get a cable card from my local cable guys if I wanted to use the TiVO as the tuner too. TiVO's website says "Does not support satellite service". Which I guess means that if I subscribe to Dish or Direct TV, then the TiVO is useless as a tuner, but I'm guessing that I can still use the DVR side, right? I dunno, setting up a HTPC would be great, but I don't think I could realistically put one together for under $700 here. Getting stuff shipped here is a huge expense and difficult to get stuff here for a reasonable price. :-

If you want free, there are several different options ... zen cart, agora cart, paypal, os commerce. If you're paying for hosting, usually your host company will have some sort of shopping cart option/plug-in. Different hosting companies offer different shopping cart options. There are several members here that have active ecommerce websites, I'm sure they will chime in shortly.

Ken or Marcus ... I was trying to upload a graphic to the Graphics Request bulleting board, but got this message ... The upload folder is full. Please try a smaller file and/or contact an administrator.

Well, you know Joe - PR is pretty darn international I run into that issue all the time here too. I commend for contacting the seller in advance to work out the shipping issue. It's too bad that they were too stupid to honor the deal. If you're worried about the seller leaving you negative feedback (because you know they will if you leave negative feedback), than you can always leave a neutral one. Definitely get a very short and clear sentence on what happened (since eBay doesn't really give you a whole lot of room for comments). You should also be able to contact eBay and report that seller. I can't stand it when people can't be straight-up with their eBay stuff.

I'm totally stoked! Thanks for sharing that with us.

Trying to choose best vinyl to work with

Check out this thread. Someone asked a similar question ... http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php/topic,4871.msg29612.html#msg29612 -
That's a tough question. I think it would really matter whether or not the surface you're trying to apply the vinyl to is non-absorbing. I'm guessing that it might work, but I don't know how well, on surfaces that might be inclined to retain the application fluid. Most surfaces that can retain any fluid will most likely swell - some a little, some a lot. If you can get the vinyl to stick on it, it might turn out looking a little different after everything dries up. But please, definitely seek other opinions on this. I have not don't a wet application to anything that can absorb water, nor do I live (or ever plan to live) in an area that snows or gets frozen ) Here's a youtube vid that shows the usage of Rapid Tac in extremely cold weather .. although I suspect that any application fluid might do the trick too. Good luck.

First off to the forum. 1. It is possible, however, you will need to purchase another license for the second computer. Unfortunately the licenses are based on "per computer," rather than "per active usage." If you're going to buy the second license, just pick it up through US Cutter. It's the easiest and I think the cheapest. 2. I have used the USB connection with my laptop since day 1. The only problems that I ran into were user-error, and had nothing to do with the USB connection. However, if you happen to run into that issue, you can easily get a keyspan (converts serial (cutter) to USB (computer)) should you computer not have an actual serial port installed. You can find them dirt cheap on eBay or not-so-dirt-cheap at Radio Shack. The only thing that I've seen about USB issues is when the cutter is being connected thru a hub of some sort. If you plug directly to the computer, I don't think you should have a problem. Good luck. Just remember that this forum is awesome, and you really can't find better help. I'm happy with my 24" LP. And although I bought it for hobby purposes, I've made a few dollars here and there. WooHoo!!!

Does it get any better for you? I've asked the boyfriend to help weed on occasion ... the end result is usually a re-cut because something got accidentally weeded and balled up with the trash. :-

Rex - would you mind sharing that info with me too? I know I could use all the help and advice as possible -
I'm just the opposite. I've got the 24" LP and want to get the Copam next time around. I think I gotta sell stuff so the LP can pay for the Copam.

First off ... I would suggest that you skim through the vinyl bulletin board and check it out ... I know that I've posted a few questions about vinyl there too -

I'll be moving into a house that has windows that slide horizontally. None of the windows on the house have any type of curtain, shade, or blinds. Would you get vertical or venetian blinds? I want to maximize the amount of cross ventilation, but have the ability to control how much light hits inside the house. For the record, if I got the vertical, then it would be the cloth ones so I wouldn't need to listen to the annoying rattling all day and night long. Just wondering what you guys would do.

Thanks for the link! I know that I've seen that website before, but was racking my brains trying to figure out what words I used to search in Google for it. I wanted to watch the little DIY video to see how easy or difficult if I attempted it myself. Stuff is a little pricey, but it's still cheaper (and a lot nicer) than bars on the window.

vinyl paint stencils for custom paint- which plotter/software?
haumana replied to jasonsan's topic in Pre-sale questions
Sorry it took me a while. Got a little busy today. Here's what I cut. I wasn't sure of the exact size that you were thinking about, so I cut one "as is", and the other I enlarged it just a bit. Don't mind the crappy quality of the scan ... I have an old all-in-one that the scanner is starting to fade a bit. I hope this helps -
Hmmm ... so it the adhesive on the etch vinyl a little more gummy? I don't know if I want to use something that's going to be difficult to remove.

Great advice! A lot of homes here have their picture windows tinted. I was actually going to contact a local company that also does the security window lamination, since some of windows are a little too accessible for anyone wanting to get it - and it doesn't look we have stuff that people would want to steal by putting bars on the windows.

Party pooper. So it wasn't other members complaining about the smilies, it was Marcus. Hmph. :- We want the smilies!!!
