post the file that you're cutting. Is there a chance that you have some kind of blank graphic in the background? It usually cuts accurate for me. If I happen to have a graphic that has a blank white background, then it's totally obvious when I select the image and the box doesn't frame the graphic tightly and it appears to have some white space between some of the borders.
  2. Does anyone here have them, use them, sell them or service them? I'm considering going this route for the house that I'm moving into. Just wanted to hear peoples' opinion on it. I know they're not cheap, but was wondering if it would be worth the cost. I originally considered (and am still considering) going the route of double cylinder deadbolts. I'm thinking if someone really wants to steal my stuff, I'm going to make them take it out the window rather than gaining access to the house and walking right out the door.

    biometric locks and/or dead bolts

Zero is a boy, named after Jack Skellington's dog (Nightmare Before Christmas). He's just about 3 years now. We were fortunate to be the 3rd (and final) owner before he was 9 months old. We immediately saw why others weren't so hesitant to part with him. He immediately chewed just about every plant and shrub we had down to the stump. Played with their stalks, stems and branches like they were fetch sticks. Turned all the grass we had on the side of our house into his own personal mud slip'n'slide. Then proceeded to dig up all of my native Hawaiian taro that I was growing my little wetland pond (that's why he's all muddy in the photo), and current enjoys jumping at the fruits on all of our mature fruit trees (avocados, mangoes, lilikoi (passion fruit), guavas - you name it, if it's edible (and if it's not, but taste really, really good) he'll eat it. I once used a small block of a 4"x4" post to prop open the door to the laundry room. When I came back to rotate my laundry, the door was shut and Zero made off with the block of wood thinking it was some kind of chew toy. Funny thing is that he is absolutely scared of almost everything. My mini-schnauzer mix, Hina, stares at him and bark, then he gets all freaked out and runs away - usually banging into things as he tries to escape as fast as he can. He loves to bark at our Sun Conure, but when I take the bird out for a bath or to play with him, Zero barks constantly until I bring the bird down to eye-level with him. The the bird proceeds to open up his bill, without a sound, and that's enough to freak him out and again, he tries to escape banging into stuff. Of course loud sounds, lightning, nor thunder have any affect on him whatsoever. He is definitely his own little personality, but he's very good natured. Just a little too rambunctious for small kids though. He has no clue as to the size he actually is. He often times tries to squeeze through the very small doggie door we have inside the house for the two little dogs to access our lanai. Most times he gets stuck, but it doesn't really stop him from trying every time we let him into the house. It's just zero.

Mahalo! If you think he really wouldn't mind providing a professional opinion. I'll tell him that you'll cut a bunch of stickers for him
  6. Thanks for posting that info. I'm sure that many people will find it very, very helpful!
  7. (Tangent) I've tried Rain-X, but I can never seem to get rid of the haze that it leaves when applying. I would love to apply to my vehicle, but the haze makes me mental. Is there a secret to apply it properly? Has anyone tried the Rain-X wipes?

    biometric locks and/or dead bolts

Still haven't decided what kind of knobs/levers and deadbolts to get. I didn't realize there is a thing called "bumping" where it's easy for someone to access your house via this means of (pseudo) picking. Looks like I might need to step-up my game with security. I spent a few hours last night researching different lock manufacturers and their technology. This is not going to be a cheap process to replace everything, but in the long run it'll give me some peace of mind. We're going to have two dogs (golden mix & a yellow lab) 'patrolling' the outside, but we haven't quite figured out where we'll be putting up the gates to block them from the driveway. Unfortunately the yellow lab isn't smart enough to know to stay away from the driveway if the gate is open. He's a runner and while they both bark a good scare, they both will willing jump into any door or tailgate that happens to be open on anyone's vehicle. The two we'll have patrolling the inside - one is more preoccupied with napping in a cool spot, and the other will be inclined to sit atop the back of the couch so she can stare outside to the road and watch the world pass before her eyes (see photo example). They all bark when appropriate, but can easily be bribed with scooby snacks, or easily distracted with the word, "biscuit". Loyalty only goes as far as who has the tastiest food (sigh).

    copy rights

If the design is already being sold by someone, regardless of media (t-shirts, keychains, etc.) there's probably a good chance that it's copyrighted (servicemarked or trademarked). If you post a sample of the graphic you were planning on using, the forum might be able to help you determine whether there would be any infringement issues. No promises, but we do try (to help as much as possible).

I bet all the new members...

Just wait till they scroll down and hit the "Mature" bulletin board. Then they'll think we all hang out at the looney bin!
  12. I wish I could say that I've used the contour feature on the LP, but so far I've only did regular cutting. Althought I'm glad that a lot of you guys are contour cutting ... so when I'm ready to jump into the fire, there will be a wealth of experience that I can reference through the forum

  14. to reset the point of origin, move the carriage and media to the place that you need it to be. while the cutter is "offline" hit the crosshair button located at the center of the 4-arrows. that will set where the carriage is to be 0,0 (x=0, y=0). I'm not sure why your carriage ends up where it does. When my LP is done with a cut, it always goes back the the right side of the cutter (where I had designated the x=0 point to be). How are you hooking up the cutter to your PC? If you think your cutter is doing something all on its own, it could be partly from communication issues. I use the USB and have had no problems since using the proper cutter driver (on the cut screen: PCut). Although many say that they have had to go to serial or to use a keyspan (Serial to USB adapter), and that's it helped to resolve all kids of issues. I don't know if I've helped or just helped to confuse. Good luck, keep on posting until we get it right for you, and Ken is always available via PM. The LP is a (relatively) new cutter line form US Cutters, so the support specific to LP is a bit limited, however, there are some issues that can be helped with the same advice.
  15. the offline button is also the online button. as for 'origin', if you take the LP offline and move the carriage, then hit the online button without pressing the crosshair button, then the carriage will return to its point of origin.

    Just being nosey

I think it looks great. It's not too plain. A lot of automotive websites are too busy and difficult to navigate. The only suggestion I have would be to standardize the spacing of the header mast and top navigation text, so when you go from page to page, the logo and navigation doesn't move up and down. I think the color scheme you're using is very complementary considering all the colors in you logo. I like the layout. If you think it's too plain, then think about what additional content you want to add, then think about where you'd like to put it and in what layout. I think it's easier to digest many pages vs. a lot of content on a few pages. That's just my

    Wanna share your photo?

Here's a couple of pics from a few years back. 1st: after a regatta race with me and my crew. I'm second from the left. 2nd: Over looking Kalalau Valley on the north side of the island of Kaua'i.

Using a fax with NO phone line??

Like Cyber said, if you're only looking to scan an image and then convert to .pdf, then you don't need a phone line hooked-up to your all-in-one. There are all-in-one's that are strictly a print/copy/scan without the fax part. However, if you're looking to receive a fax, then scan it, then you definitely need to have a fax machine or an all-in-one with the fax feature hooked-up to a phone line. There are also some online services that act like fax services. People "fax" to a phone number, but it's received electronically and then sent to your email (I would guess as an image). You gotta love technology.

how many designs are you going to have? Can you post a photo after you get your display stuff all setup? Not looking to steal designs or graphics, just want to see how you lay it all out for display. I started to put stuff on my lanai sliding door, but since we're moving some time next month, I gotta start peeling it all off. Oh well ... the new(er) house has a LOT of glass for me to stick stuff on. WooHoo!!
