You're right Ken, it's the MH365. It's hard for me to tell if it's slower than it should be. I know it's slower, by quite a bit, than when I first got it. If I made a short vid clip, maybe someone could tell if it's too slow. Maybe there are just too many nodes on the program I am cutting (too detailed for the size)

still having the same issues. It went away for a few weeks, but for the most part, it's been there ever since the move to the new office. Anyone else experienced anything like this? BTW, the cutter in mention is the 12" pcut I believe. I've attached a file I'm mostly having issues with. The trouble areas are the lower portions of the trees. Maybe too much detail? I'm cutting it scaled to about 11" long by whatever height is proportionate.

still having the same issue. Now that I look at it a bit more though, it appears to be slowing down even in the middle of intricate cuts. Sometimes it will start the intricate parts at a normal speed, then all of a sudden it jsut slows way down. Do you think it could be a hardware issue?

the previous setup would zip right through the intricate fine detail arcs like they weren't even there. It may have been a noticeable slowdown to an experienced user, but to a newb like myself, it zipped right along. I unplugged the unit and moved it into the other room when I was setting up the new office. When I plugged it back in and fired it up, it was agonizingly slow on the fine detail arcs and such. When set on 28 inch speed, it zips through the straight and not so intricate stuff like mad. But on the intricate stuff, it's so slow it tends to lift vinyl where it never used to. I replaced the blade hoping it wouldn't lift so much, but it still does it. I did try turning it off and on, about 5 or 6 times last night. Still did the same thing. The baud settings are matched at 9600. I'm running out of ideas.

I have a problem. When I first set up my 12"cutter, it cut great. I had to set up a new office and when I hooked up my cutter and tried to cut a file I had previously cut and saved, the program cuts extremely slow on intricate arc segments, and cuts normally on straight segments. The speed was set at 28 inches, and everything I can think to check pans out. Any ideas?

When I cut with my 12" cutter using the Signblazer Elements software it came with, it cuts a rectangle or box around whatever I cut. Is there any way to turn this feature off so I can cut multiples of the same thing a bit closer and not waste as much vinyl?

The jagged edges in the photo are the picture. I had to scale it down a bunch, and just used MS paint as it's all I have on this computer. The edges are as smooth as buttah!

thanks. Yeah, the part of the "a" got lost when I was weeding. It didn't cut quite all the way through due to the previously mentioned issue with the blade. I didn't catch it until I had completely pulled off the entire part.

fixed it, see the pics here http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?topic=3012.0

Finally got almost everything worked out to start making these for my local 4x4 club. I have a few small issues to work through, but I'm pretty stoked for this being only my 3rd cut. This was cut on the 12" cutter, and I am more than pleased with the precision of it. It was a PITA to weed, but I think a lot of that was my own fault. After it cut, I pulled the blade and realized I hadn't fully cleaned it from a previous mess I created the day before. There was a ton of vinyl stuck up in there. I'm sure the next ones will turn out even better after I tweak the few parts separating the letters. http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u213/cjj98xj/u4x4ctest.jpg

you are correct. We'll basically be having "hollow" letters here. These primarily go on vehicle rear windows, so in essence, it ends up being a two-tone layered sticker due to most vehicles having tint on the rear windows. Thanks for all your help. :you rock:

Thanks for all the help everyone. I sure do appreciate it. I'll post pics in the showoff forum when I get some time to cut again.

Well, I finally got the vinyl in and did a test cut. For some reason, it's cutting an offset line on every cut. It cuts the first pass , then comes back and cuts a second pass right next to the first. The second pass is offset about .01". Not really a huge deal other than the blade likes to get caught up on the first pass when making the intricate turns and whatnot. It tends to pull the vinyl off the sheet. Is this a function of the file I am cutting from, or a setting on my cutter? It doesn't cut an offset line when I create a text and cut it direct from Signblazer.

So I got some vinyl in finally the other day and set out to test it all this weekend. I have the 12" cutter and was cutting a logo for my local 4x4 club. I took a .png and vectorized it in Inkscape. Saved it as an .eps file and imported that in Signblazer. Resized the image and proceeded to cut. Everything seemed to be going fine during the cut. The blade pulled some of the more intricate cuts off the sheet, but nothing too major. I messed around a bit with the blade depth and also with the force setting. Seems my best results came after I finally dialed in my blade depth and had my force setting to 70g. There was a bit of an issue though. For some odd reason, after it cut an initial pass of all the cuts, it came back and made an offset cut of the original cut. The second pass was offset about .02" or so. This shouldn't have really caused a problem, but since the first cut was already made, this had a tendency to pull even more vinyl off the sheet. Ended up being a decent mess by the time I was done. I have attached the .png file and the resulting .eps file. Could someone take a look at these and tell me if something is wrong with the files. Or perhaps there is a setting somewhere I am not finding that would result in the second pass. On a side note, I cut some random lettering and it didn't have the second pass. These turned out fine. This is what leads me to believe there is a problem with my vectorizing or something. U4x4C style3.png.eps U4x4C style3.png.eps
