It would be completely different softwares. Where did you buy the cameo?
-
Have you tried using it with SCAL Pro and Exporting from Corel?
-
I was more thinking the bags I use for shows, as I have boxes of them already. With a screen I could screen a few dozen at a time, as needed.
-
Can you screen onto very thin plastic, wal-mart or grocery store type bags with something like this....?
-
Their main office is located in Sweden (SignCut Pro and Whisque)

I had to go see for myself- Where are you seeing THOSE prices!?!? A roll I just saw was 30+$
-
After that discount, however, the prices are usually a lot more than USCutter... and so you shop there once and thats the end. USCutter strives to offer the lowest prices and best product period... so you don't NEED discounts and other coupon codes and bs.
However, they do put things on sale once in a while- so keep your eyes peeled as they are often really good deals.

One of the benefits to SCAL Pro over SignCut is it is made right here in the USofA.... SignCut is developed and supported across a large body of water. I forget where off the top of my head.

CS2 is MUCH MUCH newer than Corel 9. I wouldn't waste your time with Corel 9. Now if you had an oppertunity to buy a newer version, I would say you might like to have it as another tool or to understand both. Illy is a very capable program and some exclusively use it.

Click on the pen icon (first box on left) and toggle the colors on and off just like SignCut. I would like to see a way to put in alignment marks.
You can do alignment marks by placing a square, then one of the alignment color needed of the same size directly on top.

Another small update working with Craft Edge! CE5000 is cutting in HPGL and GPGL modes as well as Contour Cutting in GPGL. Craft Edge is working on contour for HPGL as well as, having gotten an FC7000 machine to cut, fine tuning that as well! I am looking forward to really punching this software into solid use for basic jobs!

Good deal. Thank you for the replies. Been researching these and reading forum for last 9 1/2 hours today lol.
A very respectable and enthusiastic start! I got my start here on the forums as well a little over 2 years ago. Went from cutter-dumb to advanced contour cutting and now printing! All you can do is read read read and read some more- and then when you're blue in the face, do it again. Then go try it. You will run into bumps and hiccups along the way as well as make some mistakes. Use them as learning tools and the forum here as a way to help you prevent them.
Most everyone here is willing to help anytime and answer questions etc. as we were all there once- and then stay up to date, as well as help others coming in and you'll find this is a really great experience.

Also, most vinyl is easily and readily available in 24" rolls, a 24 inch machine will get 99% of jobs done. I have a 30" FC7000 (Graphtec) and have only really NEEDED it for 1 or 2 jobs in the year I have owned it.
The 2 smaller CE5000 24" machines are both used DAILY.

I started out with an original Laserpoint 24 and loved it. the LP2 is supposed to be even better.
Within 8 months I made enough to drop the cash on a graphtec cutter just for shear speed and quality. For cutting paint masks, espeically on RC bodies- you could get away fine for a long long time with an LP2. I wouldn't go any less just because it leaves you ROOM to jump to printing with inkjet media for quick stickers etc. But for good quality vinyl decals a setup with a servo motor and a solvent based printer is ultimately the way to go.
-
On my graphtec it simply stops where the last cut completed.
-
The latest version is X6 or also referred to as 16. I would go no less than X3 or 13....
-
You need to make sure cutting master 2 is installed and working. You won't ever select "print" from Corel.
-
I don't even need it cut, I just need the print. The lines are such it could easily be cut carefully by hand.
-
I could order from signs365, but they are saying theirs will be seamed as well! Bogus if you ask me. They of all should be able to print 60-64" wrap width.
-
It is getting there. In just the past 5 days of working with the software development team, directly, they have gotten many things working that were not as well as adding parts that were missing (*contour cutting for the CE5000) and potentially adding cutting capability for the FC7000-75!

I just don't use clear tape. Myself, I prefer paper tape.

Good quality vinyl and patience.
Alot of cheapie soaps and other brands contain a lot of scents and oils etc that aren't known or aren't good for vinyl adhesion.
Dawn, the plain old brand unscented soap is known and trusted as it doesn't have a lot of gunk in it and it is a good quality de-greaser.

So I can't access the Mutoh that I usually can for a while as it is down and the owner isn't fixing it until Jan.
I am in need of someone to print a half wrap for me. I've PM'd stetty and jfought, but no replies.
Here are my needs-
This is for a vehicle half wrap- appropriate vinyl would be needed and laminated. Preferably 3M IJ180C or comparable and perf.
2 panels 5'x6'
1 panel 4'x6'
1 panel 50"x5' which has the back and necessary side windows on it.
Let me know, PM or otherwise.
Anyone using Cameo?

They offer a 30 day on most machines if I remember. Should not be a big deal at all. The other machines all come with SCAL Pro and SignCut as well for cutting softwares. IMHO you'd be happier. For the price I would shoot for a little more if you can.
