I have to agree. I've noticed that generally people come in with an Idea of what they want, and if you can accomplish roughly 20% of they're idea, they're super happy. You'll notice more and more, people really DON'T know exactly what they want, and you'll save yourself headaches in the design process by not over thinking it.

I LLC'd my Company and have a 3 million dollar insurance policy. Cant be a 3M Preffered installer without the insurance. Also im dealing with Full Wrap installs on Coaches and Trains and Tractor trailers. I gotta have my ass covered, and as an LLC, my personal assets are safe :-) -Logan

We're in the same boat Dakota. My EPS files get super large and processor intensive, so I gotta have a capable setup. Nice specs on your new build. I have a Quad Core AMD at 3.0, 80gb Solid State and 1TB SATA, and 16gb or RAM for my design computer and for my RIP / Print software. The computer that runs my old PC-60 printer and cutter is probably a few steps behind my iPhone is processing power Lol. -Logan

If your just gonna do Die Cut stuff, a basic computer is all you need. For me, doing large format printing, I have EPS and AI files that are at or above 1gb in size. It takes a computer with pretty good processing power to handle large files such as this. Processing Power and RAM are my foundations for a good strong setup. I also run Dual Monitors and a seperate S-Video to a projector that cycles my portfolio pics on a "live wall" in my shop -Logan

I have nothing but Roland machines....shop full of em, so yes I'm partial to them. But for me, they work great, and are very user friendly. Customer Service has been good for me as well. As far as large format printers, I have a SP-540v, and a VP-540i. For me I love the VP-540i. Its a printer/cutter for one (some machines are not), and its a 4 print head setup vs. the SP with only 2, so the prints times are significantly faster. It prints max at 1440x720dpi. Both printers are Eco Solvent and I use only Roland brand Inks...off brand inks will create reside in your lines and pumps and can clog over time....I've seen it happen. -Logan

I just sold a 4ft x 30ft banner for $800 bucks. Along with 2 4x8's for $480.... So in my opinion...id sell that size for at least $500 all day. Don't undercut yourself. If im gonna run a Graphics Shop, im not gonna order a banner and call it mine....but that's just me, whatever way you can make money tho... -Logan

I know, and not just any laminate either. I've seen a lot of perf jobs go bad over time because the wrong type of laminate was used. -Logan
