  1. Curious to see if anyone out there in vinyl land has any experience with the Graphtec FC9000 Auto Take up System. Any issues with the unit? Is it easy to set up? Does the material tend to jam up when running? Thanks in advance for your input!
  2. Was looking for Winslo93 as he seemed to be experiencing the exact same issue. Was curious to see what the "fix" was for his machine.
  3. All test cuts were perfect. Not just by my eyes but also by the Graphtec Technicians. Blade depth was spot on as well. Again not by my eyes but from the techs at Graphtec. That was one of the issues the tech thought it could be. After sending photos to them of the blade holder and test cuts, that was quickly ruled out. The issue I was experiencing was hit or miss. I could literally send a job to the plotter and there would be an issue with the start and stop points. So I would resend the SAME job without making any adjustments and everything would plot out correctly.
  4. In my opinion, I would steer clear from the Graphtec machines. Some users talk about their great experience with the brand but I have had nothing but issues with our brand new Graphtec FC9000. From day 1 of the installation, we have had issue after issue. Totally understand that all companies make "lemons" every now and again but WOW. To top it all off, if your machine needs work, you have to send it to a service center where it can be looked at AND you are responsible for shipping it there. DO NOT throw away the box your plotter shipped in because if you do and it needs to go in for service, your warranty is voided if you box it up in something else. "Obtaining Repair/Replacement: If you have any claim under this warranty, contact GAI at 1-800-854-8385, 17462 Armstrong Ave, Irvine, CA 92614. Describe your problem and submit proof of purchase to obtain a “warranty authorization number” as required by GAI. Then contact a Graphtec Authorized Service Center (ASC) to arrange repair. Graphtec America ASC locations may be found at www.graphtecamerica.com .You will ship the product to the ASC, with freight and insurance prepaid, using the original shipping container. GAI will pay to have the Covered Product repaired and returned to you in the United States of America or Canada via surface freight, with freight and insurance charges prepaid." Customer service could use some work. Can only reach someone via a submission form on the Graphtec website. They have a 1-800 number but you can only leave a message. Have to wait for someone to call you back about your issue. On paper the Graphtec machines have a lot of bells and whistles and are pretty impressive in the different types of media it can plot but if the machines do not work, the bells and whistles fall by the wayside. If you are strongly considering the Graphtec, I would look up reviews of the company and what others have to say about it. Good for you to ask in sign forums as you have already done. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Graphtec+America+Inc/@33.6921541,-117.8495149,18.17z/data=!4m7!3m6!1s0x80dcde9665208653:0x42b2020f43c5f6a4!8m2!3d33.6908684!4d-117.8482759!9m1!1b1
  5. I discovered this post while searching various forums for a solution to our Graptec FC 9000 plotter that is doing the exact same thing that you were experiencing. We installed our plotter in May of last year. Ever since, we have had issue after issue. Some cuts come out great where everything aligns like they are suppose to. Other cuts, not so much. Have done test after test. Tried various cutting software, new blades, new blade holders, new cutting strips, etc. With all of the changes, nothing seemed to change the outcome of the cuts. Have ran tests on various types of vinyl, paintmasks, blastmasks and even running the pen tool on template paper. Was curious to see if you ever figured out what was causing the problem for you? Thanks for your time.
