RegisG 0 Posted September 9, 2008 I bought a few of the design books with cd's. There are .jpg .eps files BUT! When I import the .eps into SBE, it thinks it is a bitmap and I have convert to b/w and vectorize. Inkscape or Corel Trace doesn't think they are bitmap and will not open these eps files. Is this an .eps version or type of .eps problem? I know that I can take the bitmap files and pull into iks or trace but, I'd like to know why these .eps files. Any ideas or explanations or better use of the vector files? Thanks, Regis
venice_d 0 Posted September 9, 2008 Most likely they are not actually vectorized, but rather are just bitmaps saved as an eps file. Eps files can contain both vector data and bitmap data. I've gotten that before with those books...it's a shady thing the publishers do so they can add another file type to their inclusion list.
haumana 1,220 Posted September 9, 2008 Here's a thread that I started a while back. I was totally confused and really new to all of this raster/vector ... what is or is not vector. Hope this helps... http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php/topic,2554.0.html
