MZ SKEETER 4,709 Posted February 5, 2021 HP-GL is a command language. Hewlett Packard. GP-GL is a command for Graphtec Language. They are not files. Or a file format. They are the Command languages for vinyl cutters. If you are using a Graphtec vinyl cutter with Graphtec software, the Command lanuage on the vinyl cutter should be set at GP-GL. Most any other vinyl cutter will use HP-GL as their Command language. But Graphtec has it's own Command language, with is GP-GL.

MZ SKEETER 4,709 Posted February 5, 2021 You are doing something that no one can help you with. We don't do that. We use cutting software to cut with. Our cutters have the Command right on it. Why are you going that route?
jmas 119 Posted February 6, 2021 GPGL doesn't seem to be well documented but I found a python script here that claims to convert hpgl to gpgl https://github.com/Jan--Henrik/MP2300-Tools Another site with some collected information https://github.com/fablabnbg/inkscape-silhouette/blob/master/Commands.md. It's geared toward the Silhouette Cameo but you can probably find some useful info there. The first link under "references" is intriguing, but it's a dead link. This appears to be an archived version https://www.i3detroit.org/wiki/File:GP-GL.pdf. It looks like a GPGL command list
haumana 1,220 Posted February 6, 2021 I'm curious, what program are you using to do your designs?
