anyoldname 0 Posted September 4, 2010 I've had the ct630 sitting around for about a year and went to use it today, I had to re-install all the software and finally got it to cut but when it goes through the cut the arm stays up!! It doesn't drop at all, even when you do a test cut square on the menu. Even if you crank up the cutting depth it doesn't drop. Does anyone have any idea's that can lead me in the right direction? cheers Sarah
Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted September 4, 2010 Do a search there is a test with a 9v batter to tell you if it's the carriage, after that probably a motherboard

anyoldname 0 Posted September 4, 2010 thanks guy for your quick response, but I've looked and can not see what is being said about solder points, there is 2 blue and one yellow wire, the 2 blue go into what would be the motor to move the arm up and down. Is it these blue wires I need to contact with a 9 volt battery? thank you so much for your help!!!

rkisling1 0 Posted December 15, 2010 I had this same problem, and it was a pain! Try loosening the screw that tightens up the blade holder. I had mine tightened all the way, and the tip of the screw was pressed into the side of the motor housing, holding the blade up the entire time it was trying to cut. Not sure if this will work for you, but it may be the problem. Good luck! -Ryan
drawn 0 Posted January 9, 2011 Holy necro, I know but I had the same problem and came to find out if any lubrication is necessary on the solenoid as mine was stuck. with my index fingers beneath the solenoid I pressed down on the top where the linkage connects and it freed up. I worked it back and forth a few time and it seemed to cut fine. a few hours later it was stuck again. It's also pretty cold in my shop lately and the manual has temp ranges for operation that I was probably below.
