Just wondering how it went. Did you get the job?

I am fairly new to sign making and had a question about scrap and layout. I am wondering how much time to spend when trying to save vinyl. For example you are cutting out a sign or wall art that has two or three colors. Some items that are simple I feel comfortable arranging on the vinyl to use the least amount of vinyl possible and place them by hand. What I am not sure about is if the design is more complex is it worth taking the time to measure and align individual words and graphics on a window, sign or wall? I always worry about a portion being crooked or not aligned but hate to waist vinyl that I am just weeding out.

Hi, I am logged into my husbands account, so let's ignore the name. Anyway, I have been making wall art and sending them in large flat envelopes. I just did an order that is quite large though. It is 20x20 inches. I have it ready and I need to ship it out. Problem is, I have no idea what to send it in.If I roll it and put it in a box, the box still has to be at least 20 or so inches. I don't want to ship it in a huge box! I only charged a small fee for the shipping and I am sure that I will lose money on it but it is too late now. I was thinking I need to roll it or something...but what should I send it in? How do you guys ship larger items? What do you charge for shipping? Is the long tube the best bet? I need to have this shipped out today if possible. Please help!! Thanks

Wow thanks for the fast respnces! I had checked that site out but I was wondering about the prices. It seems like you can find some of that stuff at walmart for the same price. Like for a baby onesie they are $5.18 to $6.32 each while you can get good quality printed or solid color packages of three at babysrus or wallmart for $6 to $9. maybe I am missing something??

I am brand new to the vinyl world! I am interested in starting a business selling vinyl wall art, t shirts and bumper stickers. Maybe more at some point. I'm currently researching what equipment to purchase, cutter, heat press, computer, printer and whatever else I might need. I would like at some point to be able to do large scale things like vehicle wraps but probable not at first. Hello to all and I will be talking to you soon.
