    Laserpoint, vinyl falling

The last cut imade was on premium plus so the speed was at 30 and it still pulled off. I'm not really worried when doing a small to mid size decal. But am worried about 50 - 70 " cuts. I guess I will just have to keep the slack free. You know know that I think about it, that is what I did before. I will have to post the job I did to my Mustang...
  4. I have been having a hard time with the vinyl falling off of the rack during the cut. It seems that if I don't pull enough slack to make the cut the roll will fall off. It used to be able to roll out as need be. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Cutter software

Hi guys and gals, I was wondering where would me my best option to upgrade to. I have an LP 24" Corel 4, Adobe CS5 Design Suite, a PC, and wouldn't mind cutting straight outta the design software. Any suggestions? P.S. I am not a gazillionarre... Thanks, Bill

    Cutter software

Thanks for the replies, ya SB has been good to me. My only problem is the frequent stops midcut. Hopefully that will stop soon, I finally ordered a DB-9 adapter. I have another problem but I will start a new thread. I actually bought my LP used so I didn't get the 1 year signcut trial. How much is the license?

    Sign Blazer

Hello guys and gals, been a while since Iv'e posted. I had SBE up and running just fine until I got a new HD and when installing it again I can't seem to find the version that I previously had. I always had a couple of nag screens, not an issue. But the countdown both on opening and importing gets rather annoying. Which one of the downloads am do I want to use? Vista LP 24" Thanks, Bill

Nose and hood graphic on car

    Now that is sweet...
  10. Just a quick note regarding the "waiting" message. Earlier I received this message mid cut, and I am on my laptop still using USB. I Couldn't figure out what to do but then when reading locknloads post I realized I could be using a faulty port. So I changed ports, went into set-up and changed ports there as well. It worked and I was able to finish my cut. Thanks, I know I know, time for the serial port.
  11. I am using a 24" LP with SBE. Is there anyway to resume my cut where I left off before the machine got unplugged? Or is all of this vinyl wasted?
  12. So Cutme, is there anything I can do when the situation comes up that the job get interrupted mid cut? I'm using a 24" LP and cutting with SBE. Thanks, Bill
  13. For sure, lol... That's some good stuff right there...
  14. Sweet Barbie song though man...

opinion on my new card design

    I like it, looks good...
  16. Ya Roger I've actually done that before where I started in the same place and continued the cut but that was like a sq ft worth of greenstar material. I'm scarred to ruin what I have going here. I have been in this situation before where I wanted to continue a cut that had been interrupted. I was just curious if there is a way to salvage these situations.
  17. I was cutting vehicle graphics, and was about 5 ft. into the design. It was almost all the way complete when the box fell on the cord. I hope I can save it, it was on Oracal 751. I'm pretty sure I can use it for something...

First few days with my cutter

Looks good... It's not fun to weed the intricately detailed stuff though. Now I'm learning that I definitely have to keep my designs under control or I will have a heck of a time weeding. It can be so frustrating at times... Since I anticipated a lot of errors in the beginning I bought a roll of greenstar to learn with, and have been going through it like crazy. But thats what its for right. I'm actually in the process of making my first banner and its a lot of fun as well. I'm using some Avery Intermediate on that though.
  19. Hello ajgarber, nice plans.... Thats about what I'm looking to do right now, thanks for the pictures.

    Free 3M Sample rolls

After reading about this here on US Cutter Forums I submitted my request. The next day I received a phone call confirming my interest, and about a week later I received: 8518 Overlaminate sample rolls 54" x 5 yards, Sample Rolls Ij380Cv3 54" x 5 yards Prod Samp Roll 8580 54" x 5 yards and have Ij680Cr-10 48x 5yards on back order... I think its great that they are doing this and can't wait to experiment with what appears to be a great product... thumbsup...
  21. Thanks Mike, sorry I didn't catch this video sooner things have been hectic lately, hard drive crashed and had to replace it. Everything wiped clean so Iv'e been reinstalling etc... Actually I bought the silhouette rhinestone starter kit and didn't realize it was built for just silhouette. Thanks for the link. There are a couple of useful templates in the library that I am looking forward to using. One question... How do you know the sizes of holes to cut for the different stones. i.e. 10ss = ? Gracias
  22. When I was buying a rhinestone starter kit I didn't realize these were made for a specific machine. I thought Silhouette was just the brand. Can I design something and save it to my HD, and then import it to SBE? How do you fill the decoration with rhinestones? i.e. I went through the library and found a star. How can I outline it? Thanks... I hope everyone is having a great Holiday. Bill

    New to vinyl cutting

I just picked up a LaserPoint 24" Cutter and I think its a great entry level cutter. Unfortunately I heard they are phasing this model out so I am not sure how long there will be support for this particular unit. But none the less there is a section dedicated to it here on this forum. I am new to cutting myself and am excited about all of the new projects that I am now able to undertake. If you are going to be printing yourself, you might want to get something with contour cutting like my LaserPoint. I have heard nothing but good things about Graphtec, and Rollands if you have a couple extra dollars. Remember though that you are going to need money for heat press vinyl and blank shirts. Good Luck... Bill

    Hello from California

Hi all, I've spent the last year + infatuated with the t-shirt/ apparel decorating industry. I have a heat press and am looking to get a cutter to compliment it. I stumbled upon this site while researching and thought I'd say a quick hello. I would like to make vinyl t-shirts/ numbered uniforms, create stickers, make rhinestone templates, and get into the sign making industry. I'm an ambitious person and willing to put in the time/ effort to learn learn learn... I'm looking for a good entry level cutter that won't break the bank. Any suggestions will be appreciated... Thanks in advance for all the info I'm about to soak up... Bill
  25. I guess I got some studying to do on the software forums.... See Ya there
