indec 0 Posted September 18, 2008 My wife makes hair accessories, and we sell them on pieces of 215 gsm glossy card stock. The card has two parallel vertical cuts down the middle about an inch apart (to slide hair clips on to, for example). Currently, I'm cutting the cards by hand which is... tedious. I looked at the Cricut machine, and saw you have to get extra software to be able to cut arbitrary shapes, and by the time I cough up for the Expression model and the software, I'm about up to (or beyond) the cost of a CraftRobo. I've seen some video demos of the CraftRobo, but they all look to use some special cardstock with a paper backing - can the CraftRobo cut regular cardstock, and cut it all the way through? How fast do the blade dull when cutting card? Are the any other gotchas with the CraftRobo that I should know about? Thanks!
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted September 18, 2008 what you were probably seeing in the demos is the carrier sheet...you stick the card stock on it before cutting. This is a great craft robo forum: http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=200 you should be able to find all the info you need there.
