magnum 0 Posted September 9, 2008 Newbie question (I didn't have to say that, it is probably obvious I have been working with small graphics, and that has gone well. Now stepping up to something bigger, and I have a couple of questions about application tape. For relatively large vinyl such as hood stripes or race car numbers, what is the best application tape? Here's the relavant info: 1. will be applied wet 2. large graphics with no small features 3. single color 4. matte vinyl (3M 7125) I think that points to a paper tape with medium tack adhesive? Is there any problem with overlapping the application tape? I don't want to buy a 30" roll if I can use two strips of 15". Thanks in advance! -- Jim
rgaskins 0 Posted September 10, 2008 Jim, I have been using the R-Tape conform Series (4076)...Seems to work great for me.... 1. Yes 2. Yes 3. Yes 4. Havn't tried the 3M...I use Oracal Also, I have overlapped the tape many times with no problems...I just did something 46" and used 24" transfer tape...Worked great...Hope this helps... firemalt 10 Posted September 10, 2008 +1 for R-Tape conform. Clear app tape and wet app should never be used in the same sentenance or thought about at the same time... never!
