Blade not dropping.......

Out of nowhere, all of the sudden when I go to cut........the head unit moves in the pattern of the item I am cutting, but it does not drop the blade down to actually cut........worked fine yesterday, I have not done any changes.

Any ideas?

Unit is grounded? Is the cutter pulling from a tight roll of vinyl, or have you loosened enough material off of the roll for the job you are cutting? Could be static, or worst case scenario, a carriage going bad.

Unit is grounded - and I am using a 10 inch by 20 inch piece of vinyl so it is not even on the roller..........

I un-plugged the cutter and still just goes in the pattern I am cutting without dropping down to actually cut.........cutter is less than a year old.  :-

Also have jobs waiting to be done......

Not sure....which connection method are you using to connect the cutter to your computer?

Ok.........this is weird, I have been trying the same file and it would not cut, I tried a different one and it is fine now.
