slice&dice 2,467 Posted March 10, 2016 While working with the LP2, I've had to get used to the specific spots where the pinch rollers align with the grit rollers. (On the MH and SC units, the grit rollers are all along the width of the machine, but with the LP2, there are set positions, and the pinch rollers must be placed at those points ONLY) On the front of the machine, there are stickers marking where those points are located. However, as I load vinyl from the rear, and lean over to place the vinyl, I decided that having marks along the top rail (visible from above) would assist me in sliding the pinch rollers so they come into contact with the grit rollers at those specific (1" wide) spots. Pictures attached to see my method. Hope this helps others.
Topper 61 Posted March 10, 2016 Good idea! Wonder why they don't have the grit roller exposed the entire length?
slice&dice 2,467 Posted March 11, 2016 Good idea! Wonder why they don't have the grit roller exposed the entire length? The grit roller doesn't extend the entire length. This design is similar to higher-end units (like the TItans) and I believe the reason is the higher-quality grit steel, and the better tracking provided. Personally, I find it to be a PITA.
