Alright everyone here it is, I just recently purchased the Refine MH 721. I am using SignCut 2x and am running on an Apple with Tiger installed. The imported doc is Illustrator CS3. Vinyl is LG. Is this stuff cheap?

have read all available topics about offsetting the blade to no avail. I have done the sample run where I import a illustrator doc with squares and circles to make sure it is cutting properly and it does, but when I import some art the start and end cut are not in the same spot. My circles end up ovalish with the start and end connecting through a straight line. So when I go to weed my end product is very poor quality. Can anyone give me their settings or point me in the right direction?

Font issue: I have imported outlined text from Illustrator, the end product is (for example a T) with all the straight line that letter has, ends up to be cut wavy? Uggh!!! Im a newbe but am very computer literate. I have been in the Graphic Design Industry for over 10 yrs, so I know how to print.

Would the above problems be a MAC thing? Anyone please!!!

Hi

welcome to the forums!

Try these 2 things:

1. Make sure your carriage is on track. Look behind the carriage and if you can see 2 white wheels, then it is off track. In this case lift it up and push back until wheels are in track.

2. Save your docs as AI 7 or AI 8. It wont read the newer formats well. I always use AI 7, never had a problem.

Good Luck

Joe

Thanks a mill Joe Camaro & Stealth, the carriage was off the track. I didn't even have to try the saving as older Illustrator files.

One of only 2 poems I know by heart:

I am a fireman on a train:

I don't get to drive the train

I can't even ring the bell

But let the damn thing jump the tracks

And see who catches hell.

Always check the tracks. First thing.

Good call, Joe and Stealth
