Plotter drags knife when returning to origin after cutting job

Recommended Posts

Plotter = MH1351

OS = Windows XP MCE

Software = Signcut X2

Artwork = EPS exported from Corel

Connection = USB

Problem: When the job is finished cutting, the plotter does not lift the knife, and the knife is dragged across the job as the knife returns to the origin. Since purchasing the plotter I have not been able to get this working.

Hello, I'm having the same issue. I am using Signcut x2, Mh 1351. All cuts good then as the vinyl returns to start it drags the blade diagonally back to start. I have the blade set to about 1/2 thickness of a credit card use force of 90-100 speed 48. I am using a USB cable setting the baud rate to 4800 in both software and plotter. Any suggestions?

Thanks

AL

I am having the same issue and working on figuring it out...

Does the knife go up or down when you use the "test" button on the control panel?

Does the knife go up or down when you use more force 100g? 200g? 300g? 400g?

The reason I ask this, is because mine will start to go down when set to 240g or higher but will still not go up during any part of the cut.

It acts as if it is broken completely when set lower ...no movement at all

How long have you owned your cutter, if your within your warranty (90 days usually) they should fix it with little hassle, but if you are outside your warranty you will have to pay for a new carriage head. $25+shipping

There are 2 ways to test the head...

hit the test button on top of the cutter, does the head move up and down?

(baud rate would have nothing to do with this as it is an internal command)

remove the cover on the carriage head and place a 9v battery across the 2 copper strips, does the head move?
