Jerry Bonham 1 Posted February 11, 2008 Hello This is not a SignBlazer problem, It is a tracking problem., Not even many of the expensive western cutters will cut 80 inches or 2,000 mm. However there are some things that you can do. 1. Make use the third centre pinch roller is lowered. 2. Pull out the vinyl needed through the front of the cutter. 3. When you do this make sure you are holding the vinyl horizontal, not drooping. 4. It helps if another person can lower the pinch rollers. 5. If not then lower the vinyl carefully to the floor and then lower the pinch rollers. 6. Then forward the vinyl SLOWLY to the full length needed and back again. 7. If it tracks forward and back again straight then you will be able to cut your striped. 8. Make sure that you do this all at a very low speed. About 50mm/sec or 2 inches/sec. This is a lot of mucking around however it can be done as i have many customers who do this every day. Trust this helps Jerry from SignBlazer.
signman911 1 Posted February 11, 2008 Thanks Jerry i didn't think it was a signblazer issue because it did the same thin in winpcsign I don't have a middle pinch roller I did roll it out and back again seem to go ok , it is reflective vinyl I wonder if I should put more pressure on the pinch rollers? Jerry Bonham 1 Posted February 11, 2008 One of the common problems with reflective vinyl is that it is not even in thickness. Generally the cheaper the reflective the worse the problem can be. This can cause tracking off not matter what you do. I am not saying that this is the problem you have. It may be that your cutter needs another pinch roller to solve the problem. Ask whoever you bought the cutter from if you can buy another pinch roller. They are not difficult to fit for most Chinese cutters. Few cutters sold in the world can track reflective vinyl with two pinch rollers over such a distance. Even the most expensive ones have this problem. Trusts this helps Jerry from SignBlazer.
