jtinker00 0 Posted October 24, 2011 i'm having a hard time figuring this out. i want to cut a word using my cutter, lets say the word is " test " i'm using inkscape. i want to cut this word out with say black vinyl with my cutter. but i want to add a layer of vinyl on top of the base layer creating an outline with a different color vinyl. how do i do this. all i have been able to figure is by adding the same word on top of the other but the spacing and such is different. i've included a picture with what i want to do. see how the lettering and numbers are layered? sorry i'm new to this and i'm having a hard time. mb20music 760 Posted October 25, 2011 Do you have signblazer? if not download it. You will not be able to do what you want in Inkscape.
Jay2703 704 Posted October 25, 2011 In InkScape you can apply a stroke to the text (object + Fill and Stroke). Save it as an .eps file and convert the text to paths.
Zimmerman 0 Posted October 25, 2011 In Inkscape Create your text and duplicate it. Change the color (so you can see what is happening) Select "lower to bottom" in the object menu. Select "outset" from the path menu repeat until you get the desired affect. Select "object to path" from the path menu.
