deth502 39 Posted March 5, 2011 in the process of trying to learn japanese (kanji) and chineese. (very similar, nearly interchangeable). i dont know how you can do it other than to talk to someone who knows the writing system, but the way it works, one character will have completely different meanings depending on where its used. ie, writing out "peace love happiness" can mean something completely different. example, always make fun of a girl i know. she got a tattoo on her back, "it means 'gods little gifts' its about my children" well, actually, the characters are "god's" "small" and "forest", but when put together in that combination, her tattoo literally translates into "love Johnathan" no, neither of her kids is named john. its a difficult language to learn, for that matter, its hard as hell to translate WITH a translator.
