haumana 1,220 Posted December 29, 2007 You do not need to access anything under the red carriage cover to install the blade (and holder). Insert the blade into the holder and adjust it so that it just barely sticks out (it took me some playing with the depth to achieve the right about of blade to expose for the proper cutting depth). Insert the blade holder in the collar that is on the rights side of the carriage. The sliver screw is what you use to loosen and tighten the collar to hold it securely in place.
