dgreenh 9 Posted December 24, 2007 Yep, they are everywhere. I'll cut them for my own use or for a friend, but I wouldn't sell them.
JoeCamaro 11 Posted December 24, 2007 Yeah, I have been thinking the samething. I have an ebay store and I am selling original designs and one or another dingbat I've found. My sales are slow and I know if I start selling copyrighted stuff ill make more moeny, but I dont want to. But it is sad to see how many people are getting lots of $$$ doing it. Anyways, i'll keep trying with my designs. Joe
js037 0 Posted December 24, 2007 yah, but I bet if they go after them they will not be making any more money. The sad part is I think some companies don't care because its free advertisement for them.
Jerry Bonham 1 Posted December 28, 2007 You may be right about some companies don't care as it is free advertising. However many such as Disney and Harley will peruse you to bankruptcy. So the best advice is that if you think it is copyrighted then don't use it. However if you do want to cut out and sell company logos then write to the sales manager and ask permission. You will be pleasantly surprised at how many yeses you will receive. Say in your letter something such as So many people love your brand. I do as well. I cut out vinyl decals and have been surprised at how many have asked for a stick on decal of your logo. Enclosed please find a sample stick on decal I did for you of your logo. Can you kindly give me written permission to use your logo to produce these decals. Great free advertising for you. I will ring you a few days after you receive this decal of your logo. I have a friend who sells stickers and logos at a local market. He took my advice and to his amazement he got permission from most. Not only that he gets orders from some of the companies for hundreds of the logos as decals. His logo decal business is huge. And all legal! Jerry from SignBlazer. tservice 3 Posted December 28, 2007 Good advice Jerry.
Jerry Bonham 1 Posted December 28, 2007 The trick appears to be to enclose an actual logo cut in vinyl ready to stick onto something. Having it in their hands does something to sales managers. Most have never seen a vinyl decal and it amazes them. Jerry from SignBlazer.
