Illustrator>DXF>RoboMaster scaling fustrations

Illustrator CS5 (Win 32-bit), exporting to DXF format (since Cutting Master 2 doesn't support Illustrator CS5) and finding that the resulting import into Robomaster (v5.30) is almost of random size and position. Seems impossible to establish a precise 1:1 scale vs. the original Illustrator file.

Some files come in way off the page and ~3x normal size, others end up in the corner of the page, but only a tiny fraction of life-size. I can re-size by hand, but it's just a guessing game without a ruler in Robomaster. Even if it had a ruler, why doesn't the Robomaster import have some kind of consistent clue about the scale involved?

Partially solved. Changing the DXF output option to "scale 1 millimeters = 1 unit(s)"  seems to give the proper scale into Robomaster. It's still off the page, but I can live with dragging it into place. Here's my Illustrator export options screen:
