US Cutter 871 problem

Recommended Posts

Ive had my US Cutter for over a year now and it has been used pretty much daily cutting decals. Lately when it tracks the vinyl (I suppose thats the right term for when it quits cutting and moves the cutter head to a different area to start again) It has been SLOOOW however when it finally gets to where its supposed to cut it goes back to whatever speed I have it set on. I usually run 12 or 16 on the speed and 90 on the force. Has anyone had this problem before?

Please try the self test for the motherboard:

with the cutter OFF hold the test button.  Continue holding test while you turn on the cutter.

When the yellow light blinks release the test button.  If you hold it down too long it will force a failure.

You should see the following blink pattern:

Yellow, yellow, green, green, yellow, yellow.

The machine should then say welcome, then show the speed/force screen.

It is normal that the green flashes are slower than the yellow.

If you see a rapidly flashing yellow or green light then the motherboard has failed it's self test and you will probably want to replace it before it goes out completely.
