Rufus Xs 0 Posted December 13, 2007 Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to cut a gif image out of vinyl. I've figured out how to import it in to SB, so my question is: How do I "convert" it in to a proper outline type of image (vector vs. raster) so that it makes sense to be cut out of vinyl? Thanks! haumana 1,220 Posted December 13, 2007 You can import the .gif to SBE, however, you'll need to convert it to a vector image prior to cutting. Everything needs to be vectorized, with exception to text that was type directly in SBE. To do so, select your image, then convert it to greyscale. Once in greyscale, you can then vectorize it. If it's a clean image, it should work smoothly. I use Vector Magic http://vectormagic.stanford.edu/ (it's free and fast), to vectorize most of my stuff ... until I can get a handle on how to use Inkscape (another free application). If all else fails, then post your image and request for vectorizing in the 'Vectorizing" bulletin board, and someone there is bound to help you.
Rufus Xs 0 Posted December 13, 2007 Thanks - I figured it out right after I posted my question, but your instructions are still very helpful. Thank you!!!
