Merging two images

wow, thats good stuff. How did you do that? There are a few edges that need to follow the vw logo where the mn logo cut it out.

Did it in coreldraw, Got rid of the inner line in the state, selected both objects and hit the trim button, deleted the original curves.

Since it's so close to what i need can you clean up the edges im talking about?

No it's not free, but a very good program with lots of features and a lot less than illy.

Corel offers a free 30 day trial though, kick the tires before you buy it. :thumbsup:

This is easy in inkscape.  Make sure both objects are paths....position the top path over the bottom path where you want it, select both objects and choose path - difference from the top menu.....tada.

Edit....may have to do more than just use the difference......depends on what your vector is.  However you should be able to get the effect with inkscape...if you post both of those as an SVG I could give better steps when i see what they are.
