paulzeee 1 Posted May 5, 2010 Hello- I am having issues merging two vector images into one. Right now I just have the two overlapping, so when it cuts it cuts every path on both images. I'm trying to imitate this: with the files attached. NOTE: the file MN-VW-test is as far as i can get Thanks for the help Minnesota.eps MN-VW-test.eps Minnesota.eps MN-VW-test.eps

paulzeee 1 Posted May 5, 2010 wow, thats good stuff. How did you do that? There are a few edges that need to follow the vw logo where the mn logo cut it out. Thanks a million
TSQUIRTZ 0 Posted May 5, 2010 Did it in coreldraw, Got rid of the inner line in the state, selected both objects and hit the trim button, deleted the original curves.

paulzeee 1 Posted May 5, 2010 Wow, again thanks a ton. Is corel free?
TSQUIRTZ 0 Posted May 5, 2010 No it's not free, but a very good program with lots of features and a lot less than illy. Corel offers a free 30 day trial though, kick the tires before you buy it.

tlzimmerman 11 Posted May 5, 2010 This is easy in inkscape. Make sure both objects are paths....position the top path over the bottom path where you want it, select both objects and choose path - difference from the top menu.....tada. Edit....may have to do more than just use the difference......depends on what your vector is. However you should be able to get the effect with inkscape...if you post both of those as an SVG I could give better steps when i see what they are.
