help cleaning up a number

My son designed this number for his race so I scaned it in but am not sure how to get it cleaned up so it looks good I use win pc any help would be great

so i guess this is where my problem is I do not know how to clean it up to make lines straight??

Draw a straight line from one node where you pick to be the beginning of your line to another node for the end of your line. Delete all the other nodes in between, and rejoin the path.

Heres another file for you, its pretty clean overall, might need 1 or 2 nodes fixed if you need it really clean.

What are you using to open the file? I can see if fine in AI. Nice work Eli!

Give this a try.

Print out the jpg version. Trace the image with a shrapi pen/marker. Scan the traced image back into your computer. Import into Inkscape. Convert to eps format. Done.

Or just learn the pen tool, it is amazing when you get the hang of it. Sometimes its even easier to redraw it than try to live trace or vector trace it.
