Refine MH721 will not longer cut

Recommended Posts

Cutter has been cutting fine since I purchased it last month.

Now it will not cut. When I send it a cut in SignBlazer, there is no error, but the cutter does not move at all.

I am using the serial cable that came with the unit. All factory settings.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling SB. I have tried unplugging the cutter. I have check the serial cable connection. I have restarted my computer. I have even tried another computer.

Any ideas? This is driving me insane.

Yes, first thing I checked. I have even lowered the baud rate to 4800 on both the cutter and in the software. Still no luck.

Cutter will do a test cut perfectly.

If I unplug the serial cable from the cutter and send a job, I get the error "unable to initialize cutter".

If I leave the cable plugged in, it sends the job, but the cutter doesn't cut.

That should prove that the software is communicating with the cutter.

Is there anyway to perform a software reset on the MH-721.

Please don't tell me this thing is broke after only a month of very light use.

Mine does that once in a while but I use Flexi... When it acts up I go into production manager delete the job then hit cut from the manager and it will start the cut

Hope this helps

I may have found my issue. It looks like my Serial cable may have a short in it.

I will update this thread after I get another cable to try.
