Cut line at bottom of artwork

Recommended Posts

I have had my Copam CP-2500 for almost 2 years and have not had any issues.  But I have one question that really has not been a problem but would like to correct.  On every cut, the plotter cuts a single line at the bottom of the artwork on the X-axis usually the same width of the art.  Even if I use a weeding frame, you can see that it doubles the same cut.  I had time over the holidays to pursue a resolution.  It may be a software issue and not a plotter issue but I thought I would start here.  I am going to attach an image that shows this.

I use an iMac with OSX 10.5.8 with Illustrator CS3.  I had previously used CS2 and had the same issue.  I use SignCut Productivity Pro to cut - 1.00 for Mac.  Any help with this would be appreciated.  I would have searched the forums but "cut line" brings a lot of choices.

Try upgdating your sign cut to the latest version, 1.07.  See if that might fix your problem.  Have you tried importing from another illustration software?  Try Inkscape, and test to see if that comes out with the same results.  You can get that for free at www.inkscape.org

I installed the upgrade and no change.  I will look into Inkscape and do a little reading before I install it but not to sound stupid, what is it?

My set up has been working fine since I got it back 2008 so I have not had to post many questions.

Guest HowardI

Would you be willing to post a copy of the file so I can try it on my copy of signcut?
