Sign Max RS800/30" problem

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

Let me start by introducing my self. My name is Marko, and I am from London, Ontario, Canada.

I have purchased a Sign Max 30" cutter, just because US Cutter was too expensive to ship - $200+ US!!  ;)

I was interested in US Cutter, but since I wanted just to get my feet wet, I decided on SM.

Now with the problem:

I have installed everything. First I hooked it up to my laptop through USB. When it cuts, it skips a spot on every single letter. No matter what size it is, nor what kind of font it is, it is the same. I tried to adjust the blade, pressure, speed, even offset in the menu, but no luck. I have even tried a "square" test with just the cutter itself (not from the software) and it does not cut a square. It is kind of awkward looking type of square. I don't know should I laugh, or cry now!?

Then, I hooked it up to my desktop through a serial cable, long story short - same thing happens.

Could it be the vinyl I'm using (I bought 6 rolls from the same company as a sample)? Maybe it is a cheap type of vinyl?

It also looks like the carriage is moving away from tracks!? Maybe that's the way it should be, I really have no clue!

And, it also looks like it produces a different sound from time to time, when cutting.

Guys and Gals, please try to help me, I'm losing it! (I have sent and email to the company, waiting for response, looking for a quick fix with your help).

Thank you for your consideration in helping me with my problem.

God bless!

Marko
