krdesigns 1 Posted July 15, 2009 I am hoping someone can help me out. I just received my new USCutter Laserpoint Vinyl Cutter w/ Contour Cutting which came with the Signblazer software. I have an image created in Illustrator that is full color. I need to print this from Signblazer onto heat transfer paper, then contour cut it with my vinyl cutter. Here is my dilemma: When I import the image into Signblazer is comes in as a black image. You can not see the details of the vector image. So I was reading on these forums to perhaps export it as a jpg, then import that into Signblazer and vectorize it. Well, the image came across perfectly, but I can't vectorize it unless it is a monochrome image. Urghhh! If anyone can help, I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks, Karen
cpwall 0 Posted July 15, 2009 if its an eps, when you import it you have two options, postcript scanner and umm, something else. Have you tried them both? sometimes one works whne the other doesn't. I really don't know anything else to help you though, sorry
Jay2703 704 Posted July 15, 2009 You need to export it as an version 8 .eps file and then import it to SignBlazer.
bowhunter012004 4 Posted August 20, 2009 i dont make tshirts but i know what your doing. Vetorizing will turn the image black and white. Signblazer does not recognize jpeg images for cutting. It will show up in the program, but that is as far as you will go. If you are having trouble vectorizing, try copying the image into inkscape > select all > path > trace bitmap>update > ok. then save as a .eps, then open signblazer and import your .eps file. It will be vectorized, you can then add color. Hope this helps.
sarconastic 29 Posted August 21, 2009 +1 on inkscape. It seems to be more vector friendly for the new guys with Signblazer than Illy. Kevin
