Help with Twill shirts

Recommended Posts

I would like to say Thank you to everyone for all the help that these forums have created.  They really help out with a lot of trial and error issues for all of us newbies.

However this is my current issue.

I have been been embroidering for a while now but I am new to the vinyl and heat press industry.

I have a customer that wanted some button up Twill shirts embroidered but the amount of stuff that they want on the shirts are just not very cost effecient and would end up costing way to much per shirt due to the amount of stitches.  I will attach a copy of the picture that he is wanting on the shirts.  There is more writing on the bottom of the picture that I cropped and of course they do not want the background on the shirts either.  He said that they sun could be a solid color and the purple banner does not have to be around the name.

Can you do a transfer on a Twill shirt like this and if so where would be the best place to get this created?

Give them a price on having their logo digitized...(Expensive) then show them a nice sew out of text only and convence them this is the best option.  If they do not agree, politely explain you will not be able to help them on this order.  When they go somewhere else and face the same problem, they will be calling you back....

Yes, we have already went that route.  I am showing him just the wording today and we have already discussed that he is welcome to try to get them done somewhere cheaper if he thinks he can get everything he wants embroidered.

So I guess since no one has really responded that means that you can not apply a transfers to a twill shirt?

Thanks for the advice.

Slightly off topic but I just cut some twill with a Graphtec CE-5000 ... Pretty nice... Actually the Copam CP2500 cut this material very well.
