sarconastic 29 Posted May 29, 2009 I got asked to do a job today for a local plumbing company. It's a pretty simple design to replicate. One thing I noticed when i went to measure it up, it's a black blocked background with a Maroon text top layer. The top layer of vinyl has almost curled completely up and off the black vinyl. These are about 5 years old. The maroon top layer feels thinner like a cast vinyl and the black bottom layer feels more like 651 thickness. The black is barely showing any signs of deterioration, I just noticed some checking in the corners of the letters. Would this be a sign someone used the wrong vinyls on top of one another? or is it normal for the top layer to fail so much more drastically than the bottom layer. I would assume since Calendared vinyl will shrink that maybe it just caused the upper layer to loose it's adhesion sooner than expected? I am wondering here for my own benefit mainly. I am going to order the 751 I need for the job, but would like some input from others. Thanks Kevin
