My 871 is not cutting deep enough, help.

It isn't a cutter depth problem I don't think, but we have had to move it down and we keep haveing to increase the force to make it cut.

Does any have any ideas or anyone had the same problem?

How far does your blade stick out from the blade holder?  I read that a good starting point is about 1/2 the thickness of a credit card, then adjust in/out from there.  Mine sticks out less than that.
